Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

    FAB ME! I have a really bright yellow and red ceramic sugar skull that I bought in Mexico. Even though it’s a skull the colors make it so cheery! :)

    I have a really colorful turquoise capiz shell chandelier that I bought while on vacation a few years ago. Love the pop of color and the fun memories of vacation that go with it!

    When I travel abroad, I look for the quirkiest postcard I can find and mail it to myself. I use them as a rotating collection in my hallway.

    We have a jar of pickles as “decoration” on my son’s dresser as an inside joke from my babyshower. So far he’s not old enough to think it’s strange, but it makes me smile whenever I notice it in his room.

    FAB ME! I have a giant painting above my fireplace that was handed down to me from my parents – it’s a fabulous lady that I called the Strawberry Lady growing up. she is draped in flowers (think art deco Chiquita Banana!) and there isn’t a single strawberry to be found. Strange.

    Fab me! I have lots vintage linens that I’ve collected, and also a thrifted framed set of pressed flowers in the doors of my living room. It doesn’t look lame – its vintage-cute.

    We have this awesome ceramic pig next to our fireplace that stands about one foot high and is about two feet long. It was an impulse buy from Z Gallery and we love it! W ended up buying one for my Mother-in-Law too!

    We have the mast head from my husbands grandfathers old boat in our dining room. She is like our dining room guardian angel!

    Fab Me! I have 5 canvas panels behind my couch sectioned into 24 spaces. Friends and family who visit are invited to paint their portrait when they visit. It is fun, colorful and full of personality!

    I have a white ceramic hand holding up the “L” hand…which is “L for loser”, but I like to channel Dodgeball (Ben Stiller y’all!) and yell “L for love!”

    Fab Me! We have a lot of lime green going on around our home. It (a) goes with our beachy color scheme; (b) colorful [but not too much] for this self-described color-phobic (c) fun and bright and makes me happy!

    FAB ME!

    I saw this chandelier made of glass bubbles in a hotel lobby in Seattle and decided that I had to replicate it in our home. It is definitely funky, but I think it is beautiful and inspiring too. I’m totally into custom items that no one else has…and that has certainly inspired a divided response from folks who visit.

    FAB ME!!! One of my favorite watercolors in my house is a frog in a teacup–with steam coming out of it. I loved it from the moment I saw it!
