Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

I have this quirky green owl pencil holder thing that I found at a yard sale. He’s super cute but almost kind of creepy but when I saw him I knew I needed him! He always sits on our office desk and holds the best pens within arms reach :)

    FAB ME!

I don’t have anything super quirky in my house. We do have bright orange chairs in the living room (that I love) but I don’t really consider them quirky. Something I wish I owned that would fit this so well is a lamp that hung in my grandparents house many years ago. It was a hanging lamp with a statue of a lady inside a sort of gazebo with strings on the outside and when you flipped a switch oil/water dripped down the strings. It was so weird and so cool. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t have the foresight to ask them to save their furniture for me. It was all mid century modern and awesome.

FAB ME! The only thing I have that is quirky to my way of thinking is an artificial Christmas tree that spends all year in my sunroom adorned with family quotes and photos. Our last name initial is the tree topper and I call it my “Family Tree!” This all came about because I bought the tree following several years of real trees and then realized that I had no place to store it after the holiday
    without crushing it!

    FAB ME!

I bought a house (my first house!) built in the 1950s. Being a single female my decorating budget is small. The first expenditure for my new house is a lovely aqua green area rug for my living room.

Your blog about replacing the toilet flusher with the water efficient flusher was a lifesaver.

Also, my bathroom is almost identical to yours except mine is a door width shorter (the door opens right over the sink/vanity. I sure wish you’d come to my house & redo my bathroom exactly like yours :-)If I wasn’t terrified of really messing up something (causing a large professional repair bill), I’d try my hand at updating my bathroom. You make it look & sound so simple.

I asked my husband what he thought was the strangest/most quirky/most colorful thing in our home. I told him I was trying to decide between our collection of little hanging monkeys that hide in various rooms of the apartment, or our leopard gecko (who really is quite stunning). By the end of our conversation, however, I realized that the strangest/most quirky/most colorful thing in our home is… him. :)

FAB ME! When we moved into our house that had been a foreclosure we inherited the strangest collection of curtains. Among them was a hot pink pair that I just loved in my kids bathroom. I took them down to wash them and realized… they’re Pottery Barn! Also maybe a little faded but the color is so perfect in their white/soft beige bathroom I can’t part with them. Yet. (And originally the bathroom was hot pink, purple, and lime green. In flat paint. And ick. So it’s just amazing they work with my vision for the room!)

We have this door stop stuffed animal thing in all these funky fabrics. She is in the shape of a dog/hippo. So since we first thought she was a hippo we named her Hermione! But we don’t use her as a door stop. She’s so cute, she gets to sit with all our other fluffy pillows on the bed.
