Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

    Fab Me!

Maybe not super quirky, but I painted stripes on one wall, and loved it so much, that I painted another wall. and then maybe a few more.

Fab me! Got lots of Christmas gifts from Fab this past year. Brightest thing would be lime green cubbies on the wall in the kitchen to corral keys, cell phones and sun glasses – one for each one of the 4 of us.

FAB ME! My quirkiest finds are pieces of street art I bought on trips to Kenya and Uganda. For example, an elephant made entirely out of coca-cola bottle caps – classic example of how the Kenya’s can take garbage and transform it. Another favorite is a diorama of a classroom of children studying math that I picked up in Uganda – just a slice of life made out of painted cardboard that rocks my world. You would LOVE all the bright colors these artists have used. Thanks for another great giveaway.

Fab me! Probably the weirdest thing in my home is a piece of generic artwork that one of my co-workers bought me as a going away present. It’s something we sold at our store, and it’s a dog with what appears to be a giant tumor on the back of his neck. His name is Tumor Dog. He became a pretty big joke amongst a group of us, and I was thrilled to receive him as a gift!

FAB ME!!!! In the fixer-upper/ future-retirement-home-for-my parents (in which I’m staying paying rent until I find my dream big girl job) is a spiral staircase smack dab in the middle of the house. The previous owners painted it cobalt blue. And even though the color is fading, I still love it because of the quirky character it adds to the house. I mean how many houses do you know of with a spiral stair case made of butcher block wood painted blue?!

FAB ME! I love the Romero Britto print in my kitchen. Totally not like anything else in my house but it makes me smile. The dog in it looks just like mine, if he were two shades of blue with stripes! How can you be anything but happy looking at a Britto work?!?!

FAB ME!I was trying to “style” our “built in” entertainment area with cheap yard sale finds. Inspired by the white ceramic trend, I bought an old porcelain quail and spray painted it white. Unfortunately he is standing on only one leg…I didn’t notice it was broken when I bought it. He is still living on the shelf and I like the quirky little guy:)

FAB ME! I have a 50 year old, bright orange projectionist chair that my boss told me to throw away while I was working for a theater chain. How could I throw away a piece of history? I brought it home, my husband put some casters on the feet and now it is the star of our family room.
