Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

    FAB ME!!!

I have very modern taste. During the fall my husband limbed up an oak tree in our yard and cut the large branches for firewood. He happened to set one huge piece of wood against the fireplace and we like the look so much transposed against our modern living room that we’ve kept it! It never fails to put a smile on my face.

Oh how I love Fab.com! I’ve definitely got some quirkety quirks in my decor taste. Mostly in unique art and antiques. And I may or may not have gone a little too far with my love of the color red!

We have an obsession with brightly colored Monaco Grand Prix posters. We have 5 of them, framed and hanging in every room of our house. It’s what ties the whole thing together.

FAB ME! I have a large decorative plate that my brother painted in a ceramics class when he was young. It has a big bright red parrot on it & I love it. My husband hated it for years but now he likes it (or he’s used to it now anyway). My brother won an award for it at a craft show so he did a good job.

A framed poster of different culinary tools! Most of our other artwork is cityscapes but my partner is a chef and he loves explaining some of the more obscure tools when we have people over, it’s definitely a conversation starter.

hello from Romania guys :). i ve been reading/watching/drooling over you blog for the past year now. i just love it. among other things we have this colorful, and i do mean full cat that i painted myself using an old wooden cat. so thats it…i just looked and they do ship to Romania. fingers crossed.
PS: i so wanted the book but it does not really make sense to me paying 15 $ for the book and 30$ in shipping fees. so, in the near future maybe you ll consider an e version of the book. for the same price even. at least i save on postage :)

Giraffes. No, not just any damn giraffe. They have to be pretty stylized. I prefer 50’s and 60’s porcelain, but my two prize possessions are 1) an Abraham Palatnik acrylic giraffe and 2) a 14″ giraffe toy I bough from Etsy and repainted white with bronze legs.

FAB ME! My whole house is quirky, but so am I, so it’s a good fit ;) I have a lot of artwork on the walls, one of my favorite pieces is a clock in the shape of a penguin. His body is made from a small metal loaf pan, his head is an Altoids tin, wings are shoe horns, and sundry kitchen odds and ends make up his cute little details.

My fiance doesn’t love the Buddahs, but I do so much. Their little happy faces make me smile every time!

I have an elephant base lamp. When I was in college, we had a team meeting at one of the team members’ apartment. As we were all leaving, on the way out the door, I turned my head and saw this lamp in the corner of the room. And I said OMG! I LOVE THAT LAMP! And the guy was like oh it’s my roommate’s sister’s lamp. It’s been here forever. And I was all like, well if you want to sell it, let me know. And he said $10 and you can take it home!
