Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

I have an accent wall of floral, 70’s looking wallpaper in our livingroom. Very quirky, but we love it!

    FAB ME!

I snagged a Chinese zodiac placement from my fave Chinese restaurant one day and have it framed in the hall as you exit my kitchen. Thankfully I was super careful and didn’t spill anything on it. It is always fun to watch people stand and read it :)

FAB ME! We’re still working on the quirky, weird, and colorful, actually. For now my favorite thing is a big 4×8 painted pegboard that I made for my crafty area. It has blue and green stripes. I guess that room is also quirky because you take out the r and f and it’s my cat room… I have shelves high up so my two kitties can climb around. I’m not a crazy cat lady, I promise :)

    FAB ME!

I have a pair of lightening rods that I purchased to sit on my dining room sideboard. My favorite thing about them is one of them has 2 bullet holes where the farmer used to take target practice. W’re about to start building our own barn and I plan to return the lightening rods to their original purpose on the roof.

I made a sewing machine cover out of bright fabric just because I needed a pop of color in my dining room. We have a few major construction projects to undertake and then we’ll start redoing the living room and dining room areas, I cannot wait to get some lovely colors and textures in there!

I don’t have anything too quirky in my home, I think. I guess the most out-of-the-ordinary element to my home is the amount of space in my kitchen dedicated to my baking paraphernalia…

FAB ME! We have a hideously awesome chandelier in our dining room. I’m talking crystal with hanging yellow, purple, and blue crystals. It was here when we moved in and though it is somewhat atrocious, I will never, ever part with it! Way too excellent a conversation starter. And the sweetest part is that the adorable woman who used to own our house stopped by with extra crystals she found after she moved to her new place, “just in case we needed them.” Totally sealed the never getting rid of it deal.

    FAB ME!!

We have a big, smooth river rock in our entryway that we use as a doorstop. We found it at a local lake when they drained it to work on the dam. That lake was one of our favorite places to go hiking when we were dating and the rock reminds us of special times spent there. We have been married for 10 years and we still love that rock! :) Our daughter loves to hear the story of how we found it.
