I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

fab me! i love all of the art on our walls. one of my faves is a daruma doll with a person’s hand on top with their fingers crossed. that must sound confusing. it’s great and bold! it’s a linoleum cut printed in red.

I would say the quirkiest thing about my house is that I have over 50 elephants in various forms. They are my favorite animal so I love using them to decorate, but honestly it is more due to the fact that I get a lot of elephant things for gifts. It includes a trash can, teapot, 2 sets of salt and pepper shakers, a bulletin board, a shower curtain, and lots of figurines.

Fab me! Our dining room is bright green. It gets a lot of “whoa.” reactions when people first see it! Also, we have a lot of dachshund-related items lying about–a pillow, bookends, artwork, salt and pepper shakers, figurines, and the 9-pound real-life weenie dog who has tried eating each one of these things at one time or another.

I thrift pretty much everything so it’s all a little different which I love but we have a pretty big fish tank right in our living room and it’s one of the first things you see. Our fish are super funny and entertaining so people always end up just sitting and watching them so I guess that’s a little weird!

We had a small wedding and opted for an open house of sorts afterwards to celebrate. My husband and I got two canvases and left them out with paint for our guests to decorate at the party. They turned out great. I LOVE THEM! We hung them above our guest bed so that those we love can see their own art when they come to stay!
