Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

FAB ME! I have a super awesome portrait(about 6 foot by 4 foot) of my great-great-great aunt. It’s gorgeous, but the quirky part is that she’s a Catholic nun in full habit- you know, head covering, long black outfit, rosary beads. She sits above my couch and I love her!

We have our great aunt’s lazy boy chair – pink floral print and all. Although some days I hate it, most people who come over comment that ugly floral print is “in now” so we go with it

FAB ME! I recently hung a bunch of copper jello molds on the soffits in my kitchen. I’ve been collecting them from thrift stores and have enough to hang. I love how shiny they are! They are like jewels.

My front door is painted teal, and in my dining room I’ve got two ridiculous and huge prints, one of a giant dj otter chillin’ in the city and one of a deer band standing in front of a truck. Both are amazing and absolutely ridiculous.

    FAB ME!

We have a painting that looks remarkably like our youngest dog (we found it at HomeGoods) and we’ve hung it over her food bowl so she can look at her pretty face every day.

Over our other dog’s bowl we hung her graduation certificate from obedience class (youngest dog hasn’t been).

Are we a little too obsessed with our dogs? Nope, just crazy proud owners!

My favorite pop of color in our home is a piece of artwork made by Bekah Ash. She has an phenomenal eye and her pieces are introspective and feminine. Her painting is the 1st thing you see when you enter the house.

    FAB ME!!!

The item in our home that I absolutely LOVE is the coffee table my boyfriend made for me. It is made of an old window and hinged onto a shadow-box like base. He painted the window frame black and used a deep almost-black stain on the base. It has four antique-style legs attached and an awesome silver handle for lifting the window. The window lifts up so that I can put my most favorite “want to show off but don’t want coffee table clutter” items in. Currently I have a “Mutt” coffee table book, photos of us, and a tray that neatly holds the remote controls, a couple pens, a note pad and some bobby pins (the pins are just an example of my laziness).

My husband had a painting made of the four of us as Muppets for our anniversary. It totally rocks.

Also, we have a Dr. Seuss print, and our hallway is all original art (charicatures and sketches) we’ve gotten at different places– Six Flags, Central Park in NYC, local Renn Faire.
