Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

    FAB ME!

I have a painting that everyone thinks is ugly, but it makes me so happy to look at it! It’s just a bowl of fruit, but there’s something about the way the colors work together, I just love it!!

We have a few odd things around the house…a bust of Michaelangelo, a blue rooster, and some art work collected from estate sales. But we love every piece!

Is it weird that I don’t have any think quirky in our home? I wish I did but I get so scared to “go outside the box” … I did recently paint a “You are loved always” sign for our baby’s nursery.

Almost everything in our home is quirky… But most of it is movie/music/video game based.. All the art, knick-knacks, etc are somehow related to some form of entertainment that we grew up with or currently love.

    FAB ME!

One day while digging through old boxes I found a map of London. It was all wrinkled and marked up from a trip I took with friends in college – our routes planned out, starred things we wanted to see, etc. It’s now framed on our living room wall. I love it so much.

FAB ME! I love quirky, I have random quirky all over the place. My favorite is a metal wall sculpture of a waitress carrying a stack of dishes with a sour look on her face. It just makes me laugh. It also reminds me of that tv show, Alice, where all those waitresses worked at Mel’s Diner. My grandparents watched that show and laughed the whole time, so it reminds me of them.

FAB ME!! Recently I bought a vintage red plaid Thermos. I grew up on a farm and my Dad always carried a red plaid Thermos to the field during the Spring and Fall. It is displayed above our cupboards in the kitchen with some other items. It’s not his exact one but it works…it reminds me of my him and the long rides in the tractor/combine when I was a kid. We solved some of the world’s problems (or my problems, depending on who you ask) during those rides…Good times!!

FAB ME! Most of the decorating aspects of my home are from flea markets, thrift stores, etc. My most colorful finds would have to be my Fiesta and Harlequin pottery from the 40’s to the 60’s. Bright reds, blues, pinks, yellows and more give me joy everyday whenever I pass the China cabinet (another find) that they live in.

Fab Me! We aren’t very quirky, by My husband used to work on flat roofs and he would constantly be bringing home interesting looking rocks and agates. I never knew what to do with them so we started filling vases with them…I think each room in our house now has a vase or jar or rocks in it.
