Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

    FAB ME!

We have wallpaper in our basement that is a forest of trees. It’s pretty funky. It totally makes me happy. And people love looking at it when they visit.

Seriously? This is my flipping favorite store ever! Fab me! The oddest thing in our home? Probably the rock/mineral collection with labels from where I picked them up! lol I’ve been working on it since I was a kid… luckily I married someone who’s into geology and he helped me collect some while I was in Iceland!

    FAB ME

There is this awesome towel hook rack plaque thing that I made out of the old tub faucets in my bathroom. They were original and vintage and i didn’t want them to go to waste. It will look so good in the bathroom when the renovation is complete. The faucets kinda look like the ones in your old house bathroom, the one with black and white tile.
    Okk bye

    Fab me!

We lived in Pennsylvania for a couple of years and before we moved away, we bought a magnet that says “Virginia may be for lovers, but Pennsylvania has Intercourse” (Intercourse is an Amish town- in case you didn’t know). It makes me chuckle every time I see it.

The most unusual thing is probably the old work bench in my kitchen. My husband and I had to hand saw the legs down to fit it into his Outback (but it was perfect because the bench was too tall to begin with,) and it is HEAVY! It was well loved and has so much character. I dream of one day having a large slab of marble placed on the top to finish it off.

FAB ME! I recently framed a candy bar wrapper – it’s a chocolate bar wrapper that I got when I was in Wales in April and brought back to America with me because the wrapper was so fun – a dragon laying in a river and “Wicker Welsh” up top. Quirky – and delicious – decorating!

I have a chair that i love so much i won’t let anyone sit in it. It is solid walnut and I nursed it back to life after getting it for $5 at a garage sale. It is a work of art!! I’m thinking that hanging it is the only way to ensure that it stays pristine :-)

I have some awesome framed art from a film festival in the place William Faulkner totally fictionalized, Yoktonoawpha County (I butchered the spelling of that and don’t have time to make it up). As an English teacher, it was an awesome score! But most people don’t get it.

I made a piece of putty-knife art, inspired by the one Katie Bower did in her entry…. I’m still trying to decide if I hate it though, I made it way too bright! I was going for calming tropical ocean & ended up with a turquoise explosion…
