Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

You guys inspired me–I have a chia sheep (ram?) that I spray painted high gloss white. I love him! Just have to display him on a high shelf since he has a big hole in the top of his head :)

The hubs and I have our entire condo decked out in framed concert prints that we’ve picked up over the years. Some of them are a bit demented, but we love them cause each one means a lot to us :)

FAB ME! We have a sculpture from Rapa Nui (Easter Island) that we got while traveling there last year. We met a sculptor and …that was that. Our mini-moai is traditional-style, facing inward towards the rest of the house, and we love ‘im!

My favorite quirky item in our house is my owl lamp that I rescued from my grandmother’s storage unit. It is straight out of the 70’s. It’s painted with vibrant yellows and oranges and is lit from within. It is both creepy and amazing!

Our quirky thing is probably more like MY quirky thing. My husband hates it, but I dress up his deer head “Bert” (as in “O Boy, OBERTo”). It brings endless amusement to guests, but for some reason usually brings an eyeroll from The Man. Go figure :)

Like Sherry, I have a love for ceramic objects. I most recently picked up an awesome ceramic “thumbs up.” My husband wasn’t the biggest fan but I think it’s fun to add quirky pieces like that to our decor. :)

We just found our first “grown-up” art piece at a consignment shop this weekend! It’s orangey / yellow oil painting and signed by the artist – but we have no idea who painted it (we can’t read the signature but we don’t care!). It’s bright, bold and totally infuses some life into our entry way!

    FAB ME!!!! Pretty please!! =)

When I was in college, I was in a dance competition and I was surprised at how far I went. Unfortunately, I didn’t win and only winners get trophies. I’ve never had a trophy and I was devasted I wasn’t able to get that one. So my husband made me one. He made a wood base and he welded a little metal curly hair girl dancing on top. I thought it was the greatest trophy ever!! We have it in a our bookshelves and does look weird but it’s precious to me!

I volunteer at a local art gallery/museum and we had an exhibition about Leonardo DaVinci’s inventions a few years back. When the exhibition ended I, *cough*, disposed of a huge poster advertising the exhibition and it’s now proudly hanging in my living room! :) It reminds me of awesome times and the genius of this incredible man who seemed to be good at EVERYTHING!!!
