Fab Freebie: All Time Lowe’s

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

For our big two year blogiversary and we’re celebrating with one of the biggest freebies we’ve ever freebied: a $500 Lowe’s gift card.

Lowes 500 Gift Card

Did that sink in yet? It still hasn’t for us. When we started hunting for the perfect blogiversary prize a few weeks ago we never thought we’d land something so exciting. It’s like Lowe’s is giving one of you the chance to take on a big project and they’re footing the bill. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to be giving it away.

We probably don’t need to remind you of all the items you could snag during a $500 shopping blitz at Lowe’s – paint, lighting, power tools, holiday decor, flooring. Heck, you could even get a new dishwasher or something. So in case you’re having any trouble picturing where you’d put five hundred Lowe’s dollars, allow us to lend our expertise (that is, our money-spending assistance). Here are a few items that we’ve got our eyes on:

This Idylis air purifier: Since the cold weather will have us closing up our windows and doors soon, the HEPA filter on this baby keeps indoor air from getting stale and could really help Sherry as we get into allergy season.

Lowes Idylis Air Pure

A new lawn mower: I know the season’s ending, but I’ve had it up to here (picture my hand above my head) with the used mower we bought when we moved back in 2006 (let’s just say it’s no longer self-propelling). Lowe’s online Mower Selector tool helped turn up a bunch of options that we could snag for well under 500 beans.

Lowes Mower Guide

A cool bathroom sink: With a full bathroom redo moving closer to the top of our to-do list we’re already starting to fantasize about where we can add some special touches, like plopping a vessel sink on top of a thrifted piece of furniture-turned-vanity. And Lowe’s has a bunch of awesome vessel sink options.

Lowes Prize Sinks

I’ve also been contemplating adding some outdoor path lighting or taking our garage organization a step further with some more sophisticated shelving. But we’d better quit letting our minds wander because we’re not the ones who get the $500 gift card… one of you does! Here’s how:

  • PRIZE: A $500 Lowe’s gift card (in case you forgot)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIMME THAT $500” (why dance around it, right?) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us what project you might spend the prize on. Surely we’re not the only ones daydreaming about where $500 could go (and no, we won’t be picking a winner based on this answer – it’ll still be random)
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Thursday, September 24th at 8pm EST (that’s an extra day!)
  • WINNER: One lucky lady or gent
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA (but Lowe’s loving Canadians with friends or family in the states can enter and we’ll send it to your US relative/friend who can forward it on to you).
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Gimmie that $500.00! I work in a kindergarten class and would probably not answer a demand like that…but, since you asked….We are doing a basement remodel and so the gift card would be soooooo helpful as it seems Lowe’s has become our second home. Thanks so much!

$500 would allow us to start (and possibly finish!) our basement remodel! Once done it will be my husband’s “Dude Den”. So far all the work we have done to the house has been on my “to-do” list so it would be wonderful to start on his!

    Happy Blogiversary!!!

Our Anchoreage, Alaska house was built in the early 80’s, so it’s cold and a bit drafty – especially our master bedroom. $500 would go a long ways towards insulating our space, especially important now that winter is just weeks away!

    GIMME THAT $500!

Yesterday was my first wedding anniversary and also the day of our home inspection for our first house (keeping our fingers crossed for an early November closing to get that tax credit)! We have a giant list of to-dos like finishing the attic, renovating the kitchen, and painting that god-awful deep red bedroom. It’s going to take a lot more than $500 – but every bit helps!

    GIMME THAT $500

My hubby and I have put in an offer on a house. It’s a beautiful house but… it’s a foreclosure and the previous owners really didn’t give a crap about taking care of the carpet. Needless to say the carpet has to go and all the walls need to be washed and painted. Plus the yardwork. But I really can’t wait!

I think we’d use the gift card on power tools. It’d make my husband happy. :) And it seems more fun to use the gift card on something like that rather than on flooring that will stay in the house when we eventually move. At least this way we can pull out the power saw and go “awwww, remember when those nice blog people randomly choice us from over 1,000,000 entries? Good times…”

    Take care!

Hubs and I are closing on our first house this Thursday! It’s got amazing bones, but outdated. It’s ok, because we want to make it our own…over time. This $500 would put us closer to that “our own” feeling! We first put it towards the main full bathroom. It is currently pepto-pink…seriously.

You announce the winner on the day we move it… I hope it’s a great day for many reasons!!!

Wow, my husband and I would most likely put it into our guest bathroom. It is in desperate need of a makeover. It is the only part of our 80’s built home that still has all of the original parts in it..such as a turquoise toilet and tub..so it would be a nice start!

Gimme that $500 ! Ahhh projects. First off a compound miter saw since I tore my rotator cuff hand sawing waaaayyyy to much trim trying to save a buck or $150. Then I want to put bead board in my laundry room, railroaded for a different twist. Then wainscoting in the butler’s pantry. Oh and somehow our blower melted so probably should get a new one before these big oaks start dropping tons of leaves. Is that enough ideas ’cause I could keep going…
