Fab Freebie: April Tools

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

Well the lucky April fool, er, person who’s getting the $500 gift card to the home improvement store of their choosing  – all thanks to Hometalk! – is… Rebecca (who says she and her husband really need a router table to change out some non-functional kitchen cabinets). Congrats!

Nope, this isn’t a joke. Someone somewhere in the world is gonna win $500 this week, and it’s all thanks to Hometalk. It’s a free community where DIYers and pros can exchange projects and advice, which makes it a great spot to discover new ideas (everything from major remodels to easy cleaning tips pop up). The photo-centric boards make browsing for inspiration a breeze and connecting with the creator is just as easy. And since Hometalk is all about helping you tackle our next project, they want to give you the right tools – which is why they’re serving up a $500 gift card to your favorite home improvement store (be it Home Depot, Lowe’s, Sears or something else). Not a bad way to ring in April, right?

TOOL ME!! We have started a collection of good, usable tools, but would love to have a nail gun or maybe some more specific job saws… also, our stud finder is terrible–it beeps whenever my DH is near! :-)

TOOL ME: tool me nice and sweet my lovelies.

We need a 16′ ladder to get the troublesome vines off the Chimney! We also need some new P trap action in the kitchen, someone’s solution was to leave a rag in the end of a pipe as a “vent,” and then some new insulation for the attic. Oh, oh, oh! and some new electrical plates would be sweet. Also we could use some plywood for some basement type stuff…

Why do I feel like I’m looking down into a pit?

    TOOL ME!
We need a lawn aerator and a hose! Our sad little rectangle of backyard is plagued by brown grass… we’re newbies to the lawn life, so we’ve got to stock up on some of the basics. Lavender and rosemary bushes for the front yard too please! I’ve got spring fever!

    TOOL ME!

I need a miter saw for the baseboards in my home. I have redone my bathroom bit by bit over the past year in cash. I am at the point to where I need to put in baseboard but really could use this saw to help with that! Not to mention if I could use the rest of the money to buy the baseboard and some paint!

    TOOL ME!
A tractor/riding lawn mower. The self propelled is great and provides a ton of exercise but when you’re a time starved parent that just wants to spend the better part of the weekend playing with the little guy rather than yard work it’s time to upgrade! I guess I would also need tools to build a shed to house the thing in too ;)

    TOOL ME!

I’d love a table saw so I could finish the hardwood floors. I’ve got most of it in, but without the saw I can’t cut the floorboards length-wise, so I have a bunch of rooms with gaps all around the edges :)
