Fab Freebie: Bamboo-tiful

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Who knew bamboo could be so beautiful? Well actually, the people behind Smock Paper did. They also know that bamboo is one of the most earth-friendly sources of paper out there. By relying on it, along with other recycled materials, and by incorporating other green practices into their shop, Smock Paper is truly a wonderfully sustainable operational located right here in the good ol’ US of A. Oh, and of course they make very pretty things.

Smock Cards

You may have already heard of Smock Paper from our monthly sponsor shout outs, and if so you probably remember them for their stunning letterpress greeting cards, party and wedding invites, and the like. Well they’re here this week to give one of you a sweet $100 shopping spree while introducing some new products to amp up your note-taking, gift-giving, and memo-jotting adventures.

Smock Jotters

Just like all of their other products, these colorful items come with an eco-tastic spin. Like the memo pad above whose letterpressed bamboo cover protects 90 sheets of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Or the cube of 700 sticky notes below that also comes from recycled paper.

Smock Memos

While those items could dress up your office nicely, they’ve also got graphic beauties like double-sided wrapping paper, gift bags and even gift boxes that all boast punchy designs on recycled materials that would certainly dress up your next gift or look great in your home office.

Smock Boxes

Now let’s get on to how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on Smock Paper’s website
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BAMBOO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since Smock makes items to help you keep notes, why not share your current note-keeping habit with us. Do you keep a pad on your desk to jot down phone numbers or random thoughts? Do you keep some scrap paper in your purse just in case? Or are you high tech and rely on a voice recorder or phone app to help you remember stuff?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States AND Canada!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

These are so cute! I have a notepad on the fridge to jot down what we need at the store and also one in my nightstand for those nights when I have too much on my mind to sleep.

Oh, I LOVE that whale. I think I’m going to have to buy it if I don’t win. My note-taking habit? I use iCal and Google tasks and sync them to my phone. I also always have Moleskines in my car, purse, and bookbag, and on my bedside table and desk, and I healthily use the “notes” app on my phone as well. I also love those five-packs of single subject spiral bound notebooks and always have about three or four sitting around my desk. I’m a writer, so I’m a little obsessive! : )

BAMBOO ME! We recently bought our first house (which is increasing the number of times that I check your blog), so I have been jotting notes on my post-consumer recycled paper notebook so that it all stays in one place. And the cover is green and pretty.

I just got a Droid Incredible, so I’ve started a to-do list on my phone. But I still make a paper to-do list for each day – it’s just easier to write it out than to tap away on a virtual keyboard.

I have lists in the kitchen for shopping, lists in Outlook for work and otherwise I just have a list in my head. For some important things, I keep a stack of recycled paper in my nightstand for jotting down lists so that I can sleep otherwise the things would keep me up!

BAMBOO ME! I have a pad of paper on my desk with my master to do list, another pad in my purse in case I need to jot something down (ex. a good book someone recommends, a recipe I saw while flipping through a magazine in the doctor’s waiting room) and I’ve also been known to call my home phone from my cell to leave myself a reminder message.

At work, I jot notes/tasks on post-its and stick them either to my computer screen (which makes them hard to ignore) or to my planner to be removed once the task is completed. For grocery lists I use the notepad on my iphone.

I am a note-taking fool. I keep a tall pad of sticky notes on my desk at work and keep a healthy supply of scrap paper. For my nonstop list-making, I just use a sheet of printer paper! Then, of course, there are the sketch books and notebooks… everywhere… for idea-time and impromptu art-makin :)

As a nurse I always need to write down vital signs or some doctor’s order and always am lacking something to write on. Usually I have to grab a paper towel or I write it on my arm! (not my hands, because I wash them so often) :) This would be a great givaway to win so I could be a little more proper with my note taking! :)
