Fab Freebie: Bamboo-tiful

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Who knew bamboo could be so beautiful? Well actually, the people behind Smock Paper did. They also know that bamboo is one of the most earth-friendly sources of paper out there. By relying on it, along with other recycled materials, and by incorporating other green practices into their shop, Smock Paper is truly a wonderfully sustainable operational located right here in the good ol’ US of A. Oh, and of course they make very pretty things.

Smock Cards

You may have already heard of Smock Paper from our monthly sponsor shout outs, and if so you probably remember them for their stunning letterpress greeting cards, party and wedding invites, and the like. Well they’re here this week to give one of you a sweet $100 shopping spree while introducing some new products to amp up your note-taking, gift-giving, and memo-jotting adventures.

Smock Jotters

Just like all of their other products, these colorful items come with an eco-tastic spin. Like the memo pad above whose letterpressed bamboo cover protects 90 sheets of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Or the cube of 700 sticky notes below that also comes from recycled paper.

Smock Memos

While those items could dress up your office nicely, they’ve also got graphic beauties like double-sided wrapping paper, gift bags and even gift boxes that all boast punchy designs on recycled materials that would certainly dress up your next gift or look great in your home office.

Smock Boxes

Now let’s get on to how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on Smock Paper’s website
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BAMBOO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since Smock makes items to help you keep notes, why not share your current note-keeping habit with us. Do you keep a pad on your desk to jot down phone numbers or random thoughts? Do you keep some scrap paper in your purse just in case? Or are you high tech and rely on a voice recorder or phone app to help you remember stuff?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States AND Canada!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

Bamboo me! I’m a fan of post-it notes, note pads, scrap paper – you name it, I’ll pretty much use it! I’m a HUGE note jotter…

I have a pretty little green moleskine style notebook that I keep with me. Sadly, its down to its last couple of pages. I don’t want to look for another one.

    BAMBOO ME, please.

I note-take on napkins. Hubby and I write love notes on napkins and tuck them in each other’s lunches (it took a while before using one wasn’t weird anymore). I also keep a stack of napkins in my console for my note-taking and then re-use them for the kiddies’ messes. Mine, too.

I’m an equal-opportunity note taker. I have little memo stacks on my desk, a moleskine (or two) in my purse, and a notebook in my car. And, when one of those isn’t handy, I use the notes feature on my iPhone.

I use a very complex system of notebooks, post-its, and notepads…..i guess the complex part of the equation is remembering on which of those three i have things written down!

I’m a mixture of organization and chaos! I have a planner that has sections for various segments of my life as well as a place for random notes, but I still tend to grab a random envelope or church bulletin to jot something down on.

I am constantly jotting down things I have to remember to do. I use the note pad on my I-Phone most frequently because then I can email it to myself or my fiance (we’re really loving this feature now in the midst of wedding planning) but I also love Post-It notes and keep a pad by the bed for that late night brainstorming session I never can kick.

BAMBOO ME! I’m a habitual note taker. I love lists. I always have three or four lists taped to the refridgerator or floating around in my purse. It’s the best way for me to stay on top of everything I need to accomplish that week.

I have to do it all! As a mother of three I can’t trust my brain to remember it all. I have a notebook dubbed “my brain,” a post it pad in my purse, and those little mini memo books all over the house all for different purposes! I sure wish they were all as pretty as those from Smock!

I found these notepads at work that no one uses anymore b/c they have outdated information printed on them. Every week I write out to-do lists and mark things off as the week goes on. I would love some cute recycled notepads since the ones I use now are recycled but kid of boring…=)

I always have several lists going and I compose them on envelopes that we get with junk mail (and other mail of course). I’ve done all I can to reduce the paper mail we receive (e-bills and such), but junk mail seems to slip through. I carefully open my envelopes and make a stacked pad with a binder clip. They work best for grocery lists, as I can put my coupons in the envelope.

I jot notes on just about anything. However, I make my lists (especially for the grocery store) on junk mail envelops, both the one it came in and the one for the return inside. I make my list on the ones without a lot of printing and then I tuck my coupons inside. At the end of my shopping trip I recycle the repurposed paper.
