I might go to a Cringe reading for V-day, which is kind of like stand-up meets performance art, of regular adult people reading their own teenage diary entries. I was even going to read something from my own past, but as it turned out, everything I wrote was kind of boring and self-involved, not really funny at all. Other than that, I just plan on getting half-off sweets on Friday!

My boyfriend (of almost 5 years) has class until about 9 PM on Thursday, so Valentine’s Day promises to be a night of hanging out with our adorable goldendoodle, Olive. But! Next weekend also happens to be a long weekend (thank you, George Washington) and we’ll be heading to his family’s beach house in Rhode Island to enjoy some quiet time out of the city. Should be a wonderful weekend :)

JEWEL ME! … This year I celebrated 10 years of dating with my manfriend. Our anniversary is Jan. 2 and we are too always tired (I LOVE CHRISTMAS!) and/or poor so we celebrate on Valentine’s day. This year I stated,as the patient … cough 10 years cough … girlfriend that I am … that I would prefer no jewelry as a gift unless it was a very specific piece of jewelry.
This is would be perfect because I can buy the jewelry for myself now … all is right with the world … because what girl doesn’t love accessories! :)

We celebrated a little early (in combination with our Anniversary, which falls the day before Valentine’s Day) this weekend with a weekend trip to Chicago to stay at the Palmer House and go see Book of Mormon. We live in the burbs, so it isn’t a BIG trip, but it sure was nice to get away from the usual grind for the weekend and do something fun.
