Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    This year, we strung a set of lights along the ceiling perimeter of our morning room. I love turning them on and seeing the glow!

    My favourite lights are the white ones on our tree. I love watching movies with just the glow of the tree.. So cozy!

    Lamp Me! Oh how nice this would be. A few days I actually picked out a light fixture I want to buy from Lamps Plus. This would be nice. :)

    I like the way big bulb colored lights look on brick houses. I think it transforms them into gingerbread houses!

    LAMP ME!!! I love the light from a candle this year. Didn’t put up a tree b/c of travel plans this year so I am loving the pine scented candle!!! (not the same…but nice anyways)

    LAMP ME! I love white Christmas lights on a tree decked out in the hodge podge assortment of sentimental and kiddie ornaments. (PS – I would love to win this! We live in military housing and lighting is one of the quickest and easiest ways to change things up – and then I can take it with me when we move. Which is often!)

    Lamp Me!

    Every year there’s this older house that looks like a gingerbread house when it’s all lit up. Their roof line is perfect for holiday lights and they also happen to be on the street that goes all out for the holidays (Christmas and Hanukkah), sometimes even with a common theme. I absolutely love it!

    LAMP ME! I go nuts for classic white christmas lights. I love all the fun colors and trees that people are rocking of late, but nothing beats the classic in my book.
