Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME (please)! I love all Christmas lights but the older I get, the more I like those clunky huge old-style Christmas lights. They’re not energy efficient and I’m not even sure where to buy them, but they definitely fill my heart with joy.

    Lamp Me!

    I love the flicker and crackle of a fire but right now I’m digging the vintage bubble lights on our tree. My grandpa gifted them to us a few years back :o)

    Lamp me!
    I love the old-fashioned large Christmas lights when used in a rustic setting. I absolutely adore the crackle of a blazing fire, and the smell of wood smoke in the air. Mmmmm!

    I love white lights in a Christmas tree. Or when really fun houses do those mix ups of all different color/sizes and shapes of lights. So pretty!

    LAMP ME! For as long as I can remember I have loved looking at the colorful light displays as I ride down the streets during Christmas time. They are always so intricate and exciting to look at. My dad tells me that when I was little I would bounce up and down in my car seat and scream “Yights daddy, Yights, Yights!!!!!” (That is not a typo, I couldn’t say lights when I was little so I called them yights).

    Lamp me! I love the colorful lights. The white ones seem more elegant and romanticky (yes, I made up that word) but the colorful ones brighten my spirit more and get me ready for Christmas.

    LAMP ME!!!
    I can’t decide, I love all three! Our previous house had a gas fireplace and at Christmas-time we really enjoyed having the fireplace going, having the lights on, on the tree, and knowing the lights were on outside for all to see. (Hey – I made a rhyme)! It just felt so festive. :-)

    LAMP ME!!! I love the glow of a real fire in a fireplace, but since we don’t have one in our house, I settle for white lights on the tree :)

    I love the white lights on our Christmas tree; we play games and drink hot chocolate in front of it every night with our kids, and it’s almost magical.

    Lamp me!!!

    I love the Christmas tree glow. Mainly because I have poor eye sight and there is nothing better than taking my glasses off and staring at the fuzzy balls of light
