Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    My favorite are the old-school bubble lights on a Christmas tree. My Meemaw used to have some on her tree when I was growing up and I always loved them.

    White Christmas tree lights. Our tree is decked out in old handed down ornaments, new colorful meaningful ornaments, and 40 year old wooden cranberry garland. We really like the simplicity of the white lights with everything else we have going on.

    Lamp Me! I love the glow of a fire place. But there is nothing like a house decked out in every color light imaginable to really get me in the spirit!

    LAMP ME! I love me some plain white lights on my trees, indoors and outside. There is a beautiful simplicity to it that I find pretty and peaceful. That said, I do enjoy driving by all the Griswold houses in the neighborhood. :)

    We have a house in our village that has an AMAZING gigantic evergreen in front with thousands of white lights. We look forward every year to seeing the meticulous lighting job they do.

    Lamp me! My mom used to pick a color every year for our tree – all blue, all green, etc. which I love but my little boys love the multicolored lights on our tree….so that’s what I love for now!

    “LAMP ME” I love multi colored lights on the Christmas tree. I like simple decorations and front porches are my favorite thing to decorate and look at.

    LAMP ME! My nine year old daughter and I bicker over colored vs. white. Since I am the BOSS, white wins :) I just love the simplicity and sparkle! Merry Christmas!

    LAMP ME!

    I’m from Wisconsin and winter=gray, gray, gray! I love multicolored lights and the bright Chistmas pinks, blues, and greens that have popped up in recent years! I need a little color in the winter to keep me from getting depressed!
