Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    Lamp me please.
    White lights all the way on Xmas. My husband and I have had the white lights vs rainbow for 14 yrs. This is the first year that I gave in allowed him to put colored lights on the house. The Horror!

    We have declared 2013 the year of lighting in our house. We are tired of all of the boob lights in our house!

    I prefer the sole light that shines on a single large wreath hanging outside of a house. Simple.

    i love the reflection of lights in a darkened room, maybe with a soft glow of burned out embers coming from the fireplace. it just yells “it’s the holidays and everything is perfect and lovely.” yes. yells.

    Lamp Me!!!!!
    My favorite Christmas lights are the traditional colorful lights that adorn a deep green tree. I love the warm light of a crackling fire, and the yummy marshmallows that come along with it. Merry Christmas!

    I love all white lights, but I have 3 children so forget what I like! : ) It is all about their joy in looking at the colorful strands.

    I just discovered these LED lights that look like the bug old school bulbs but do really subtle color changes. Oddly obsessed.

    LAMP ME! I love the sparkly lights that line the top of our bookcases in our reading room, illuminating all the little Christmas items we have tucked on to the shelves. Magical :)

    LAMP ME! I love white lights in the windows. There is one house not too far from here that has little candles in the windows, and it is so pretty. It’s simple and elegant!

    As a kid I always thought it was the coolest thing to get a string of Christmas lights in my room. I still think it’s pretty cool to have that little glow as you fall asleep around Christmas :)
