Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    Lamp Me! I love white lights on the Christmas tree but we have colored because my 11 y.o. daughter loves the color. So…we will have colored until she’s on her own!

    I’m def a white light on the Christmas tree kind of gal. It doesn’t hurt to see the lights on garlands and wreaths too, of course. :)

    LAMP ME! My favorite holiday lights are those reflected in the lake behind our home. The homes and boat docks decorated for the holiday glow in the slow moving waters and it’s easy to feel like there are thousands of lights everywhere!

    LAMP ME!! I have always loved basic white lights but my husband recently inherited his parents’ old school colored lights for outside. They have definitely changed my preference.

    LAMP ME! I love white lights the best, I have white lights on my tree plus gold ornaments and accents, and it just glows so beautifully!

    And I could really use the lamps, I badly need to replace the *florescent* (yes, really) lighting that the previous owners installed in the living room /facepalm.

    Lamp Me, Baby!
    I love white lights EVERYWHERE……trimming the exterior of our home, the shrubbery (is that a word?) the christmas tree, every bit of garland inside and even in my daughters’ rooms…they love turning off the light and lying in bed with just their “Christmas Twinkles!”

    Lamp Me! I love turning off all of the room lights except the tree. The ornaments just seem more special and there’s a peacefulness that settles in.

    Lamp me!
    Those lights bubble lights with the tube that bubbles go up. I found out that there is some weird chemical in them that make them illegal in CA. Too bad. Can’t get them now. I always loved them on our xmas tree growing up.

    LAMP ME! I gotta say classic white lights are my fav; the neighborhood I grew up in wouldn’t allow people to decorate the outside of their homes with colored lights!
