Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME!
    Fav holiday light: when a gift recipient’s face lights up, and confirms that I did find the perfect present! Or the way relatives’ faces light up at the airport! Thinking about the light at the end of the tunnel, aka when my medical school exams are finally done for the semester!

    LAMP ME! I love LOTS of lights. This year I wrapped 21 strands of white lights onto my 8 ft tree. That’s 840 watts. It’s ridiculous and so awesome!

    LAMP ME! I love them all! I think we will eventually have a nice mix of warm white lights and multicolored since I can’t decide which I like more :)

    Lamp me! I enjoy the almost over the top houses that are decorated up. And it’s fun to view it through the eyes of my 5 and 6 year olds.

    “Lamp Me” I love our new fake Christmas tree. It has a button to make the lights change from clear to colored. It was a Martha Stewart one from Home Depot on black Friday so its fun for the kids but can be elegant too with the white lights.

    LAMP ME! I love all holiday lights…but my favorite are the candles that make our little Norwegian angel chime go around.

    “Lamp me!” During Christmas I just love the twinkle of our tree. It makes the whole house feel a bit more joyful!

    My favorite kind of light is the soft glow of the fire as its about to go out after a fun night of friends have gathered by it.

    LAMP ME!! My favorite Christmas lights are the small white twinkles wrapped around old live oak trunks with their graceful branches.

    LAMP ME! I like not-so-over-the-top lights on the outside of the house, a warm glow of lights on the tree, and a nice wood burning fireplace.
