As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

LAMP ME! My favorite holiday lights are the glow of candles: candle lit luminaries along walkways and candles in lanterns on windowsills. Our candles are the battery operated ones!

I love old school c7s, multi-colored, outlining the house roofline. One year I actually bought red and green, unscrewed every other one, just to alternate them! it looked greT, but never again! The multis are just fine by me.

Christmas candles in the windows. They remind me of being a kid and getting to go to sleep with a candle in my window for the month of December. It felt so magical and still makes me smile.

Lamp me! My favorite holiday lighting is all the normal lights off with just the Christmas tree on-it is so serene and peaceful. Even as a little girl, I could stare at the tree for hours!

“Lamp Me” I love everything! I love the Christmas tree lights, especially at night sitting in the dark with Christmas music playing. I love all the homes decorated-they look so festive! I love a crackling fire–ours is gas–but it still looks lovely. One favorite thing is our Christmas tree star–it is one of those retro ones that spin and all the colors move about the room–all of our kids want this–it sounds kind of tacky but it really is pretty. Like I said–I love everything!!
