Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME! I like the led lights for the garden and Christmas tree, the light in our nativity, fire in our wood burning fireplace and the little light brought by the pine scented candle in the corner.

    LAMP ME! I love checking out all the lights on everyone’s housing. We live on a military base and the outside of our houses look like concrete bunkers. Surprisingly, Christmas lights actually kind of make them look decent.

    Lamp me! I love the hilarious blow up characters on people’s front yards- often they are lit up, so I suppose they count as lights! Hilarious santas & frostie the snowmen!

    I love fireplaces. I don’t know what it is. When we were house hunting, I was determined 100%, that we would have a fireplace. Unfortunately, we ended up without one. There is nothing more romantic than a room lit by nothing but a lit fireplace and Christmas tree.

    i pass a house every night on my way home that is decked with what is clearly a lifetime collection of lights. it’s so mismatched and tacky and lovely and wonderful all at the same time!

    LAMP ME!
    I have to say, my favorite Christmas lights this year are my mother’s little fiberoptic Christmas tree. She just loved that little tabletop tree because she didn’t have to decorate it and she could see the lights as they changed colors. She was 89 when she passed away earlier this year, and it reminds me of her. :-)

    LAMP ME!!! I love a really decked out house, nothing says holiday cheer than a ton of lights adorning your house. I am so lucky to have a husband who agrees so we are always looking to add another strand here or there.

    Lamp me!!
    The most beautiful seasonal lights are the classic bright colorful bulbs. You remember the ones you really couldnt keep up on a dry Christmas tree!! When I was a youngster, my parents would get up on the roof and hang the lights while I held on to the big bulbs to keep my poor little icicle hands warm!

    LAMP ME! Several houses in our neighborhood have these really cool “drippy” icicle lights this year. The way they blink makes it look like water dripping and they are awesome! :)

    my favorite lights are the candles at the midnight service when all the artificial lights are dimmed and everyone is singing ‘silent night’ :)

    LAMP ME :) I love all the holiday lights. The fireplace is fantastic but so are the lights I put on the mantle… and the ones on the tree… and the ones around the door frame. Love me some lights.
