As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

Got to love Christmas trees all lit up. We tried LEDs for the first time this year and we love how they shine! We are also loving our advent candle and how such a small flame lights up our home and hearts as we read scriptures together as a family each night. Oh how we love Christmastime, so magical!

LAMP ME! I love warm white lights on my Christmas tree, candles in the house, a fire in the fireplace, and colored lights outside. Although I do like the new LED lights, I really love the big, old-style colored bulbs that we used when I was growing up; they got so hot, but there was just something special about the warmth of their light!

Because we’re so close to the buildings on either side, our apartment is crazy dark all year round, especially the winter. At Christmastime, I string colored light eeeeeeverywhere– around every doorway, inside bookcases, on top of kitchen cupboards. Makes things brighter during the holidays. :)

We love the glow of the white lights from the Christmas tree and how it warms the house. Colored lights are on the potted trees outdoors because there are the five year olds favorite. :o) There’s nothing like the feeling of your home at Christmas!
