Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME!!

    I love the old lights (or yights as I called them as a toddler). You know, the big multi-color bulbs glowing warm and bright. Those that had bubbling water in them were cool too.

    LAMP ME!!!! We love the outside of houses decked in seriously tacky lights from roof to sidewalk! Thankfully where we are renting has tons of ridiculous lights and we are loving it! As for us we would really love some new shades for our dumpster lamps we found and painted!

    AAAhhh, another giveaway with over 10,000 entries! LAMP-ME!!! I’m entering because I moved into my home 4 months ago and the old chandelier is killing me…Would love a Lamp Plus gift card to relieve me of my pain!

    Favorite holiday lighting – fireplace fire and those holiday lights that look like dripping icicles. Need me some of those next year.

    I am a 5,723 white lights on a tree kinda gal but I must admit that I still love the big ol’ colored lights from my childhood. Yea, I’d rock ’em.

    LAMP ME! My favorite holiday lights are the warm white lights that glitter the tree and exteriors in a classic way (I’ll put the color on with ornaments etc).

    I love the old fashion big C-9 bulbs that my mom and dad always hung when I was a little girl. I’m not into the new LED lights at all.

    I love the blinking lights on a Christmas tree, multi-color or white. Growing up my mom even had lights that played Christmas music and blinked to the song. I miss that

    My favorite holiday glow comes from the fireplace and candlelight. Nothing beats the crackle of an open fire and the light it emits is truly fantstic! And we can’t forget about advent wreaths and brass reindeer candlesticks since those come in a close second : )

    LAMP ME! I love our dining room chandelier. It is a hideous brass and porcelein thing from the 80s but at the holidays I lambast it with greenery and ornaments. The old girl looks great one month out of the year and it makes me happy enough that I haven’t replaced her…yet. If I win this giveaway though (insert evil laugh here). Merry Christmas you guys!

    LAMP ME! I have a horrible dining room light that needs an upgrade
    My favorite holiday lights are the candles in the window. There is something so peaceful and cozy about driving around and seeing them.

    Lamp me! I love every type of Christmas lights! Especially now that my 2yr old son thinks they are just the coolest thing around. We go for holiday light drives and he says “oh wowwwww!!” to each & every house with light we pass. These are the amazing moments about the season that I love :)

    I absolutely love the super mega glow of houses decked out in colorful bulbs on every inch and moving raindeers and Santas! We don’t really use fireplaces here, but the warm crackle of a fire sure is a plus on a quiet Christmas night.

    LAMP ME! We have gold lights on our tree at Christmas, but my favorites are still the colored lights on the tree at my parents’ house. Reminds me of all the wonderful Christmases I was lucky to have as a child.

    My favorite type is the light up garland we have here at work. We run it around the cubicles, it looks so pretty and helps keep a fun positive attitude at work!
