Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    I love the glow of the fireplace! We also decorate the outside of the house will different color bulbs, this is for our children.

    Whatever my wife fancies is fine with me, she always makes our home feel warm. I would love to give her a lighting upgrade for Christmas!

    Nothing beats the crackle of a real wood fireplace. That soft glow, with Christmas music in the background, cannot be beat for coziness!

    LAMP ME!

    We currently use only white lights on the tree and outside but I love driving around at night and looking at all different lighting displays. I might switch to the multi-color lights on my tree-and maybe outside too-eventually. I think they are alot of fun!

    I love the white lights – but I also like a punch of the ceramic colored old school bulbs. They are just so classic and bring back good memories!

    A plethora of string lights– in a vase on the dining room table, on the tree, in the kitchen, around the windows. The moar the better.

    LAMP ME! A real fire would be great, but since we don’t have a working fireplace, simple white Christmas lights are my next favorite. I think they look so classy, simple, cheerful, and bright.

    I have to have colored lights on the tree, but I LOVE white lights for decorating outside. And lots of them. Something to rival the Griswolds!

    LAMP ME! My husband and I love the Christmas tree lights! We love to turn all lights off in the house except the tree and watch a Christmas movie together : )

    Lamp Me! i LOVE LOVE LOVE white lights on a tree, and white lights under snow. So pretty. White candles against glass holders….

    LAMP ME!
    I LOVE the glow of all the whites inside and outside our home. Although, the hubs and I just commented we are kind of digging the comeback of the colored lights. Something to think about for 2013.

    Lamp me!
    I’m a fan of big, soft white globe lights, but once we have kids, I’m planning to go crazy with colored lights. They’re pretty nostalgic for me.

    In general I just like the monochromatic look. So do holiday lights all in one color and I’ll like what is going on.

    LAMP ME – my family is Jewish, so the only holiday lights we have are on our menorah. We light candles every night for 8 nights. This year, my almost 2 year old really noticed what was going on and was so excited about it each night. I loved sharing that small tradition with him.
