As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

We just upgraded the lights on our tree to LED multicolored lights, and I’m loving them! I’m also a big fan of the single electric candle in every window though!

I love the neighbors’ Christmas lights. There are whole streets lit up in our neighborhood, and when I walk the dogs at night I take a little tour and scope out everyone else’s mad decorating skillz.

What a fabulous giveaway! We recently moved and the lights in our new house leave much to be desired. The light in our master bedroom is the worst offender – the ‘crystals’ make strange shadows on the walls and I’ve mistakenly thought on more than one occasion that I had stains on my clothing becuz of the bizarre lighting!
But back to holiday lighting. It’s a tie between the tiny white lights on our Christmas tree and the glow of the fireplace!

LAMP ME! I swoon every time I see the large and in charge bulb Christmas string lights that are reminiscent of Christmases past. My grandmother used them at her house and now we have our tree wrapped in them!

My dad is the master of holiday lights. He decorates for every holiday, he had every color of light and even some homemade lawn ornaments for 4th of July and Easter. I try to do him some justice and hang up a string of Christmas lights in my office cube to make it a little festive.
