As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

Lighting my absolute favorite part of a room, especially at Christmas. From white lights around the Christmas tree to the reflection off silver accents, from the glow of fire from the fireplace to lit candles flickering around the room, I love it all!

Golly…I love them all. I’m one of those who cannot decide which I love best, but I will say that there is a home I drive by to get to town and I think they hate their neighbors. Their entire house is decked in lights-twinkling, obnoxious, every-single-color-and-size lights. It makes me laugh to see it, but I feel badly for the neighbors. While I have a hard time deciding my favorite, they just wanted to irritate someone. We noticed last night that the twinkling stopped. I’m thinking the cops were called. Nice.

I saw them at a department store display and tracked down the decorator who helped me track down the manufacturer. (But this was years ago and said lights are no more and I can’t remember the name of the company I went through so much to find.)
