Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    I love electric candles in the windows. My grandmother used to do it, and it always makes me think of going home at Christmas.

    Lamp ME!! Good heavens, we love all kinds of lights in this house: white LEDs in the front yard, old-school C9s on the back, white lights on the downstairs tree, colored lights on the two kid trees upstairs… also candle light and firelight (either in our fireplace or in the fire bowl outside)… if it sparkles, it makes us feel holiday-happy!

    I’m a mixed bag. I love how elegant white lights are but I also really like fun of twinkle colored lights. We have both!

    Lamp Me! I love seeing our town’s streets, trees and parks lit us this time of year. And you can’t beat the glow of candles around the house!

    I love white lights on Christmas trees with shiny classic ornaments and hidden pops of color. BUT I also love driving through neighborhoods and towns that are decked out with lights of any sort. :)

    LAMP ME! I love the old-school large colored bulbs! They look great on the exterior and you can even play with them inside for some retro holiday cheer.

    i love the soft glow of the white Christmas lights we have on our tree and on the evergreen garland around the top of our entertainment center. especially when they are the only lights on in the room after dark. it is just so warm and happy :o)

    I love the old Christmas tree that was at my grandpa’s house. It was fiber-optic and changed colors so seamlessly… I could stare at that thing for hours!

    LAMP ME! I like white lights on xmas trees and a fire in the fireplace, as long as it’s not 75 degrees like it has been the past few weeks in Dallas, boo.
