As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

LAMP ME!!!
I miss the large multicolored bulbs my parents used to put on their tree when I was little. I was always the first one up on Christmas Day, and would turn the tree lights on as it was usually still dark out, and curl up on the couch and fall back to sleep.

LAMP ME! I love the glow of a colorfully lit Christmas tree, especially when laying on the floor under the tree. Then outside the house, I love the look of white twinkle lights under a blanket of snow. So pretty!

We are a classic, white light family on our own house. But one of our favorite Christmas traditions is going to “the Plaza”, a local landmark, and looking at each of the buildings decked out in bright, colorful Christmas lights and decor! So beautiful!

Lamp me! I have two favorites – the big, fat strings of Christmas lights that are reminiscent of the 80s, and these lights that my Aunt has always had on her tree that look like little lanterns bubbling up.

I love the over-the-top houses that have every square inch of yard space covered in some light up inflatable whatever! It’s so fun. Also, I’ve been hanging onto a broken lamp for 2+ years now because I can’t find a suitable replacement. I’m the only one allowed to turn it off and on because of it’s delicate condition. I’d love to finally kick it to the curb with something new!

I love classic white Christmas lights. My fiance and I are having our first Christmas in our new house and he is a fan off colored lights. I won the battle this year! We have white lights lining the roof and our Christmas tree in our front window with white lights. I wanted candles in the windows, but every store in Maryland is out.
