Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME! I would have to choose a fire place as my favorite holiday lighting. They are just so festive and make me want to cuddle up with hocho and a good book in the overstuffed chair that my mom throught was u.g.l.y. and threw away even though my siblings and I LOVED it because it was ssssoooo comfortable! But I’m not at all bitter. *sarcasm*

    Anywho…fireplace would win for me!

    Love the crackling fireplace since it reminds me of my Grandparents. My Grandpa always had a blazing fireplace going in his house since he lived in the mountains and had ample firewood.

    I love most of it; white lights on the margins of the house, colored lights, anywhere. What I do not like are lights past the second week of January. If houses on my block have lights on, STILL, into April; color me an annoyed neighbor.

    I love the glow of a real fireplace, but since we don’t have one, I love just some simple white lights around our Christmas Tree.

    I love traditional white lights on my house, but LOVE when other houses deck theirs out with crazy colors! Just no blow ups, please ;)

    I love to have the lights dim and the christmas tree all lit up at night while we relax. To me, that is what really says its christmas time : )

    LAMP ME!I love the white mini lights on the Christmas tree. We have to put the Christmas tree in the living room each year so I can hang out on the couch at night and enjoy the view and smell of it!

    I never had a fireplace growing up, so I have extra appreciation for it now! And in terms of christmas lights, I’m all about the all white lights. It feels so much warmer in my opinion :)

    LAMP ME! Love simple white lights. Do not like the creepy too-cool/almost blue LED lights. Glad to see they’re making those in a warmer white now.

    LAMP ME! I love all lights, but there’s something about either the elegance of all white lights, or the silvery glow of blue lights on evergreens that gets me every time.

    I love ALL Christmas lights!! We usually just put out reindeer in the front yard but I am a firm believer that no amount of or combination of lights is too much!

    I especially love having our Christmas tree glowing atty night with a fire going in the fireplace nearby. Or the simple white lights on the eaves of a house!
