Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    Lamp Me! I love the white candles in the windows and our 4ft wreath with white lights hanging in the center of our two story palladium window. Bear to put up but so worth it seeing the twinkle through the glass.

    LAMP ME!

    I love when one tree in the yard has millions of lights on it so it glows really really bright. Just one color lights though, either white, red and blue. It’s easier with the new lights now because you can string about 40 strands together without blowing a fuse! :)

    I love a house decked out in red and white lights only. So simple and elegant. I’m also a sucker for the lighted snowflakes, especially those huge ones in the windows.

    Wow, some new floor lamps would give me BIG joy all year long!

    My favorite holiday lights are candles – in singles or in groups. There’s something so pure and quiet and powerful in the light of a single candle!

    LAMP ME! I love a tree with all white lights. Sadly, I got outvoted by my family so we have bright colored LED’s on our tree!

    LAMP ME!

    I absolutely love going downstairs with my family on Christmas morning, and the only light is that of the Christmas tree. It’s my favorite. And it’s the only light because it’s 5am. Yes, we get up at 5am Christmas morning. Yes, we’re all adults. :-)
