Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME! I do love fireplaces, but we don’t have one yet {apartment still}. Second best though, my husband wraps every single branch up and down with white lights before moving to the next, so the tree GLOWS! It’s something his family does and I’m happy to make it our little families tradition.

    I saw these really cool icicle lights in downtown Calgary that make it look like the icicles were dripping. The best!

    LAMP ME! I love the glow of a fireplace, but I love the glow of our white Christmas tree lights when all the lights are shut off. Favorite time of year! Thanks for passing on the goods.

    LAMP ME! My favorite light of the season is our big ol spotlight out in front of our house. Sure, we have small twinkly lights hanging around our front porch…but we also have wreaths hanging in every window that need their time in the limelight. Enter the SPOTLIGHT! It’s as if our house is glowing. It’s glorious! PLEASE LAMP ME!!!

    Lamp me! I love white lights on the tree glowing. My family has outvoted me on color lights so as long as they are willing to snuggle with me while I look at colored lights, then they are my favorite. :)

    Lamp me!!!! I love the glow of a fireplace for sure… not much use for one in texas…but anything below 50 gets me to light mine up! Thanks

    LAMP ME! I love all lights. I love the glow of multi-colored lights on our Christmas tree and white lights on the garland on the mantel. This year I discovered C5 lights–I think I need them for next year’s tree.

    Lamp Me! My husband’s family always went with white lights on the Christmas tree, while my family always had the gaudy huge colored lights. I pushed for the gaudy lights for the first few years we were married, but I’ve since given up – we’re a white light family now, and I’ve grown to love it.

    I love old fashioned, multi-colored Christmas lights – the ones with the big bulbs that are considered sort of tacky now.
