Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    Lamp Me!

    I’m a sucker for my tree lights. And white outdoor lights. One of our old neighboors did their whole house and yard up in white lights with a nativity and a star and it was GORGEOUS. I don’t want to put it up, but I love to see it! :-)

    Lamp me! I love those big ol’ colorful bulbs. Especially when they get partially covered in snow, they have a particularly lovely glow then. :)

    Lamp me!

    We had one of those big rotating color lights that shone on our xmas tree. I used to lay under the tree and watch the colors every evening when I was a kid.

    “LAMP ME!” My favorite type of holiday lights this year were the new lights we bought for our home. Our new neighborhood really embraces Christmas and we loved joining in on the fun!

    I love all of our lights. The colorful outside lights that the neighborhood kids love, the garland and warm lights going up our staircase, and of course our christmas tree!

    And I’m all about candles for the holidays! Lots and lots of pillar candles in cool shaped glass candle holders. Easy decor with big impact!

    I love the lights on a Christmas tree…so much so that I drag my mattress into the living room for the inaugural lighting each year.

    I’m partial to traditional white lights- not the LED ones that look blue. I also love the old school large bulb lights too.

    LAMP ME!!! I love colored ceramic lights…some may think they’re a little tacky, but I just think they look very homey/vintagey.

    I love to have loads of glittering Christmas lights… inside and out. Currently I’m into all white, but also adore red and white. What great supplements to the shorted hours of natural sun-light this time of year.

    I am a fan of white lights on the tree, but my hubby and daughter are fierce multi-colored fans. Sadly this year, we are going “light” on the lights, because our house is up for sale and we’ve slimmed down everything. Our next house would definitely benefit from the Lamps Plus credit(please, please, please!)

    Lamp ME! I love when I just have my lamps turned on, especially when it’s cold and/or raining outside..It’s just so inviting and makes me wanna curl on my couch with some blankets and watch a movie :)

    Lamp ME! I love the over the top Christmas lights. My father used to go all griswald on our house when I was a kid so it is still something I have fond memories of. As for my own home, a like a nicely simply lit christmas tree with white lights.
