Fab Freebie: Duet To It

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Sherry and I have a system when we paint a room. She edges (aka: cuts in) and I roll. We both claim to have the more difficult job- and sometimes I think we’re both right (hello painting brick?), but this week’s prize could prove us both wrong…

Ryobi Couple Painting

The RYOBI Duet Power Paint System is specially made for two people who, like us, enjoy tackling a paint job together. We haven’t taken one for a spin yet, but the idea that both of us could have fresh paint pumped straight from the can to separate his-and-hers painting attachments (a roller for me, an edger for Sherry) almost makes us want to break out our paint swatches again. Heck, there’s even a sprayer attachment if someone’s feeling particularly daring.

Ryobi Duet Paint System

But since we don’t have any looming paint projects to tackle, we want one lucky winner (and their handy painting assistant) to try this puppy on for size. Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: The RYOBI Duet Power Paint System (valued at $116)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “DUET TO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us your favorite musical duet of all time. Are you all about some old-school Sonny and Cher? Or does the more recent Madonna and Justin Timberlake collaboration rock your world?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 11th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anyone in the lower forty-eight US states
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

**Psst- Want more free stuff? One lucky local can snag two coveted tickets to R. Home For The Holidays where guest speaker Eddie Ross will be chatting about seasonal decor by swinging over to our Facebook page and submitting your entry. We wouldn’t miss it for the world!

Duet to me! I know you asked for one duet, but I can’t pick just one – I have to do a top 5. The favourite of the moment depends too much on the mood.

I could say Bryan Adams and Tina Turner’s “It’s Only Love,” which is classic and always gets me singing along loud enough that drivers 2 lanes over can hear me…with the windows up.

“Don’t Give Up” by Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel is just brilliant, and always turns things around if it comes on when I’m blue.

“Under Pressure”…well, between Bowie and Freddie, I don’t think I need to say much.

“The House of the Rising Sun” by Joe & Eddie. It’s a great Sunday morning song (along with the rest of The Best of Joe & Eddie, frankly).

“Crazy Love” – Van Morrison and Bob Dylan. Because with Van alone it’s a brilliant song, and adding Dylan…it’s pure genius. Also, this was in my mix a few times when I was painting my guest room on the weekend…so it seemed appropriate.

    DUET TO ME!

I’m partial to Rihanna and Jay-Z’s verison of Umbrella; it will always have a place in my heart b/c we had Umbrella as our recessional at our wedding, and didn’t specify which version. When we turned around after being annuounced as husband and wife, Jay-Z greeted us with the “YEAH! UH HUH, UH HUH!” intro to the song. We looked at each other, surprised, and went with it :)

DUET TO ME! My hubby and I have the same jobs as you do when it comes to painting.

Oddly the first duet that came to mind is Kid Rock and Sheryl Crowe when they sang that picture song, you know the one “I found your picture today…” This song sticks in my head for days every time I hear it. “Sat down and cried today…” See it’s stuck again. ;)
