Fab Freebie: Eat Bright

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries.***

This week we’re keeping the eco-friendly theme going with a freebie from Bright and Bold. They’re a great online resource for all sorts of green home wares, including the much-loved Envirosax bags and other items like jewelry and gifts. Plus, everything on the site ships to the US for free (our favorite four letter word), so you gotta give it them for making the world a happier place.

Bright And Bold Logo

This week we’re teaming up with Bright and Bold to offer up some earth-friendly products in a lunch-themed giveaway (shouldn’t more things in life be lunch-themed?). Three people can comment to win the perfect tools for a no-waste midday meal: their very own Klean Kanteen and a reusable Fresh Snack Pack bag. You’ve heard us rave about Klean Kanteens before (check it out here and here) and they’re consistently ranked as some of the best reusable, stainless steel bottles out there because they’re non-leaching and bpa-free. Which explains why we currently own three of them (only two are pictured because I keep one at work, so Burger’s filling in as an honorary member of the Klean Kanteen gang).

Bright Bold Kanteens

Along with the reusable water bottles, our trio of  winners will also score the Fresh Snack Pack bags which are a great reusable alternative to the traditional Ziploc disposable sandwich bags. They’re made of food safe, nontoxic, PVC-free, Pthalate-free plastic that’s easy to clean and it even folds out to make a placemat. So you no longer have to worry about getting mustard on your latest work assignment (or am I the only one who does that?).

Bright Bold Prizes

Here are this week’s entry details:

  • PRIZE: A reusable lunch kit from Bright and Bold (a 27oz Klean Kanteen in your color of choice & a Fresh Snack Pack of sandwich-sized lunch bags- valued at $34)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’LL EAT BRIGHT” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us your favorite go-to option for lunch? Grabbing a bite at a local restaurant? Indulging in last night’s leftovers? A classic PB&J?
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, August 12th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA and our northern neighbors in Canada
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner(s) will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Until then, happy lunching…

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT!

If I’m not eating leftovers for lunch, my usual go-to option is the classic PB&J. All natural peanut butter and reduced-sugar jelly, all the way!

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT!!!

Toasted tomato and cheese sandwich, fruit, nuts, little organic gingersnaps* and water. And, as someone mentioned in a previous post, keeping the tomato separate until lunchtime is essential. The amount of tupperware in my lunch bag is borderline ridiculous these days!

I try to eat several small meals throughout the day, so I always take a whole grocery bag full of mini-sandwiches, small portions of last night’s leftovers, granola bars, etc. to eat all day long!

I’LL EAT BRIGHT … with leftovers! Seems to be a favourite answer, and that’s because they rock! It makes healthy eating easier if you only have to come up with one healthy idea and then stretch it to several meals.

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT!

I work at a place that allows 30 minutes for lunch and there’s no restaurant within driving distance in that time (oh, and not to mention the 10 minute walk to my vehicle one way!), so I get stuck with leftovers on a daily basis. That neat little fold up sack would be amazing for me and my husband!! And my hubby could really use one of those refillable water bottles…he uses an old plastic water bottle until the lid won’t screw on anymore and then grabs a new one..

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT!

I frequently grab “lunch” to go while I head out the door with my two little ones for running errands. Often it’s string cheese, bananas or cut apples, rolled turkey slices, and perhaps some nuts. We use reusable plastic water bottles, but I’ve been wanting to replace those stinky things…

Such an amazing lunch sack! I might have to get one of these even if I don’t win the give away:0) As you could probably guess, then, I’m a brown-bagger, myself. As well as being completely economical, I enjoy the morning ritual of preparing my meals for the day (I eat break fast at work too, unfortunately!). My favorites are leftovers (when I have them!), carrot sticks, tons of fruit, and cashew butter with rice cakes. YUM!

    Thanks for the awesome loot!!!

Firstly, I just need to get this out of my system. FINALLY A BLOG CONTEST AVAILABLE FOR CANADIANS! I feel so left out most of the time, so I’ll eat bright this time!

Ziploc bags are an easy solution but so not earth-friendly. The bag/placemat idea is wonderful. Grabbing a bite at the restaurant is nice but it gets to be expensive really quickly so I try to have leftovers but mix them a bit as to not eat the same thing two days in a row. For exemple, yesterday we had chicken breasts marinated in dijon mustard and garlic for 24 hours + green veggies and sweet potatoes… we kept one chicken breast out of the marinade and some of the veggies and are having a chicken breast salad for lunch.

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT!

Eating out is one of my favorite ways to lunch, but it can be expensive and not as healthy as bringing the goods from home. I love making whole wheat penne-based marinated salads or wraps using pre-bagged salad mix, veggies, turkey and whatever fun sauce or condiment we have at home. Leftovers are always great, too!

I do love a classic PBJ, but as a mama to two kiddos, we see lots of that at our house. So, I’m more of a leftovers kind of girl when it comes to weekday lunch – when I remember to pack it anyway! Getting a family of four out the door on time often leaves lunch still in the fridge. Oh well, makes for an easy dinner then, right? :)
