Fab Freebie: Father Lowe’s Best

****This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Having now been a father for one whole month (Happy 1- month birthday, Clara!) I’m totally psyched for this Sunday: my first Father’s Day. Another reason I’m psyched? Because our friends at Lowe’s have offered to help us celebrate Daddy Day with a handy gift guide mood board along with a totally testosterone-ready prize. So if you’re still scratching you head about what to get ol’ pops, here are a few ideas to get you started. And if you’re our lucky winner, you might just be covered entirely (for the next few years even):

Lowes Father's Moodboard

  1. What’s Father’s Day without tools? Kobalt 22 Piece Set ($50) is a great starter set if your guy happens to be tool-less. It covers all the basics, plus dad gets a tool bag to keep it all organized.
  2. If dad’s covered in the tool department, help him step it up a notch with a Kobalt 60 Piece Driver Set ($54) that has a bit for just about any job you can think of and then some.
  3. Now if you really want to splurge on pop this year, upgrade his workshop with a Kobalt 53” Tool Chest ($1798). It’s not your everyday tool storage space – it’s got a radio and mini fridge built in! Like woah.
  4. If tools aren’t his thing, help him tend to the yard with the Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower ($199) that we’re enjoying. It’s an eco-friendly way to mow, plus he’ll get a little extra workout in.
  5. Or hook him up with a Troy-Bilt String Trimmer ($100) to keep those edges in check. Bonus: he might just stop mowing over the flower beds.
  6. You can also send him on a power trip with the Porter Cable 4 Piece Combo Kit ($129) that’s got a cordless reciprocating saw, circular saw, drill and flashlight all powered by the same battery.
  7. But enough about gifts that put dad to work. What about letting him relax with a nice meal straight from the grill? This compact, but powerful 2-burner Char-Broil Urban Grill ($269) could do the trick.
  8. Lastly, if he’s like most guys and is just plain hard to shop for. You can never go wrong with a Lowe’s Gift Card, right?

If you read this morning’s post about my experience with the Fiskars Momentum mower, you already know that it’s part of this week’s prize.

Lowes Fiskars Mower

What you don’t know is that this week’s winner is also gonna score #7 on our gift guide too. Yep, the Char-Broil Urban Grill is also making it’s way to one of you. That way you can spoil the dad in your life with a one-two punch of prizes (or split ’em up if you got a few fathers to pamper this year). Okay, and we wouldn’t blame you if you just kept ’em for yourself. Can’t beat nearly $500 in free stuff, right?

Lowes Char Broil Grill

Now let’s get on to how you enter:

  • PRIZE: The Char-Broil Urban Grill and Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower courtesy of Lowe’s, Char-Broil and Fiskars
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY _______!” (inserting the names of the dad(s) or father-like figures in your life) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why not share something you love about them or how you plan to celebrate, honor or remember them this weekend. Feel free to gush, get sappy, or just tell an embarrassing story that captures why he (or they) make your day.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Happy Father’s Day to my awesome hubby and my awesome dad! My hubby is an amazing father and husband! My son loves to wrestle him and my daughter loves to cuddle him. He’s very romantic and very handy around the house. Plus, he pulls daddy duty so I can get a nap on occasion.

My dad is equally amazing. I’m not his biological daughter, but he always reminded me that it made no difference to him, I was still HIS daughter. He’s a pretty amazing grandpa too. I love the to two MEN in my life (well, three counting my sweetie-pie son!)

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY PAUL, ROBERT AND CARLITO!!!!

Paul: My dad passed away last year after being hit by car. I miss him tremendously but he was a great father and grandfather to my daughter. I just like to remember all the good times I had with him while he was here.

Robert: My brother became a wonderful dad to his son three months ago and he wasn’t a wild person or anything before but to see him interact with his son is so amazing.

Carlito: My boyfriend…we are expecting our first child together but he has practiced with my daughter and he’s amazing with her.

Happy Father’s Day Dad!!! Thanks for everything you have done in my life from kissing my skinned up knees, cheering the loudest at my first home run in softball, helping me get my driver’s license, hugging me so tightly as my high school and college graduation, and walking me down the aisle at my wedding and the father and daughter dance. You have been wonderful and have always been there for me and continue to be. I LOVE U DAD!!!

Happy Father’s Day! I love how my dad is the most sensitive, kind, caring, and generous person there is. My fondest memory of me and my Dad is when we were waiting for walk down the aisle at my wedding. It was just the two of us waiting and all of a sudden, he starts to cry. It was a ” moment” for us that I will always, always remember. Love you Dad!

My dad is just awesome. Not only did he spend years providing for me, but he now built my mom and I our dream horse farm – which he mows, maintains, fixes, (you name it) all by himself! He even mucks stalls!! Now that’s a pretty awesome dad.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY DAD!

My dad has been a saint over the past year looking at houses with me (he was my realtor). I probably dragged him to 200-300 houses, all in various states of disaster. He hung in there, gave up every Sunday and we managed to find a great one for me!! Plus, he’s been there regularly since to help me fix the things that go wrong.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, David, Dad, Coach Darling! He is the best father and husband in the universe! David works so incredibly hard so that I have been able to teach our child with hearing loss to listen and speak. It wasn’t in our plan to take a 7 year sabbatical, but he has been unwaivering to our committment to our children. He is an awesome father, teacher, and football coach! What an inspiration and role model for his 3 boys and team full of high school boys!

This is my husband Gary’s first Fathers’ Day as well – our son will be a month old on Wednesday. So far Gary has wowed me with his ability to show love to and care for our son August and I look forward to many years of sharing the responsibility of raising him.

Also, Gary is grilling as we speak – but on a borrowed grill. He would love this prize, and not just a little.

When I was a young teenager and started getting into music my dad would take me to concerts. He’d stand in the back so he wouldn’t be the embarassing dad. I think it was so cool of him to take me so that I’d be safe but to let me have my own experience too.

Happy Father’s Day John (dad), Grampa and Pa!

Now that I live far away from my family (I live in SC and they are all in MA) I miss the little things. My dad and I used to take a lot of walks together and he always calls me by my childhood nickname, Eepie (my brother couldn’t say my name–not sure where that came from but it stuck!). My Grampa always greets all of his grandkids by yelling, “GOTCHA FIRST” and tagging them. Although we will get him first our fair share of times :) My Pa always has a big hug and smile for everyone. As his only granddaughter I am his princess.
