Fab Freebie: Father Lowe’s Best

****This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Having now been a father for one whole month (Happy 1- month birthday, Clara!) I’m totally psyched for this Sunday: my first Father’s Day. Another reason I’m psyched? Because our friends at Lowe’s have offered to help us celebrate Daddy Day with a handy gift guide mood board along with a totally testosterone-ready prize. So if you’re still scratching you head about what to get ol’ pops, here are a few ideas to get you started. And if you’re our lucky winner, you might just be covered entirely (for the next few years even):

Lowes Father's Moodboard

  1. What’s Father’s Day without tools? Kobalt 22 Piece Set ($50) is a great starter set if your guy happens to be tool-less. It covers all the basics, plus dad gets a tool bag to keep it all organized.
  2. If dad’s covered in the tool department, help him step it up a notch with a Kobalt 60 Piece Driver Set ($54) that has a bit for just about any job you can think of and then some.
  3. Now if you really want to splurge on pop this year, upgrade his workshop with a Kobalt 53” Tool Chest ($1798). It’s not your everyday tool storage space – it’s got a radio and mini fridge built in! Like woah.
  4. If tools aren’t his thing, help him tend to the yard with the Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower ($199) that we’re enjoying. It’s an eco-friendly way to mow, plus he’ll get a little extra workout in.
  5. Or hook him up with a Troy-Bilt String Trimmer ($100) to keep those edges in check. Bonus: he might just stop mowing over the flower beds.
  6. You can also send him on a power trip with the Porter Cable 4 Piece Combo Kit ($129) that’s got a cordless reciprocating saw, circular saw, drill and flashlight all powered by the same battery.
  7. But enough about gifts that put dad to work. What about letting him relax with a nice meal straight from the grill? This compact, but powerful 2-burner Char-Broil Urban Grill ($269) could do the trick.
  8. Lastly, if he’s like most guys and is just plain hard to shop for. You can never go wrong with a Lowe’s Gift Card, right?

If you read this morning’s post about my experience with the Fiskars Momentum mower, you already know that it’s part of this week’s prize.

Lowes Fiskars Mower

What you don’t know is that this week’s winner is also gonna score #7 on our gift guide too. Yep, the Char-Broil Urban Grill is also making it’s way to one of you. That way you can spoil the dad in your life with a one-two punch of prizes (or split ’em up if you got a few fathers to pamper this year). Okay, and we wouldn’t blame you if you just kept ’em for yourself. Can’t beat nearly $500 in free stuff, right?

Lowes Char Broil Grill

Now let’s get on to how you enter:

  • PRIZE: The Char-Broil Urban Grill and Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower courtesy of Lowe’s, Char-Broil and Fiskars
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY _______!” (inserting the names of the dad(s) or father-like figures in your life) and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why not share something you love about them or how you plan to celebrate, honor or remember them this weekend. Feel free to gush, get sappy, or just tell an embarrassing story that captures why he (or they) make your day.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    HAPPY FATHERS DAY RANDY!!!!
My sweetie is a long~haul Truck Driver, always gone 7 to 14 days at a time, which means “Dad” is only home for a day or two in between trips. Our time is precious with him, and we talk to him daily on the phone and try to squeeze in “road trips with him” so we can spend more time together! For every Fathers day since our 6 year old has been born I photo a scrapbook of the prior year of our time together, whether its just reading stories or swimming at the lake. Its a Album just for Dad to show how much we miss and love him! Although some years he isnt home for Fathers Day or Holidays, this year will be extra special just because he WILL be home with us on his Special day and thats the Best Fathers Day gift he said he could ask for! Hugs! Ginger

My dad is the greatest ever. When I was about 9 my dad came into my family’s picture. Not having any children of his own, he married my mother and took on us 3 kids. Now he could have been like a lot of other step dads out there, but that wasn’t the case. He took us on and we became his. Myself being the oldest and by FAR the MOST difficult, my brother – at the time 6, and my sister – then 5. To this day he has been one of the greatest men in my life. And it took a long hard road to get to where we are today, and without God it couldn’t have been done. And Jase, my wonderful hubby and father to 4 beautiful children. He’s the greatest too. A very involved loving and caring father. There’s nothing he wont do for his kids. Whether it be wearing a necklace his little girl made or taking our rambuctious boys (3 and almost 2) fishing or hunting for bugs. Happy Father’s Day Dad and Jase. I love you both!!!

Happy Father’s Day, Carlos. He started his role as father by delivering our son himself, in the front seat of the car, in front of the hospital, and has been just as hands-on since. I couldn’t ask for a better father to my kiddos. He is also very hands-on in the yard care and grilling departments, so this prize would make his day!

Thanks for another great giveaway, YHL!

Though to tell the truth, if somehow random.org picked me, I would probably give this stuff to my fiance. He really wants a reel mower. We did just get a Weber kettle grill from my parents for his graduation from grad school, so maybe I would share the grill with my dad.

For gushy stuff about my dad, he didn’t actually give his blessing when my fiance asked him for my hand in marriage, but since we kind of decided to proceed anyway, he’s been great about letting his oldest child and only daughter get on with being an adult. Dad is awesome!

My dad is a hardworking man’s man. He loves fixing stuff and getting dirty. When I think of a “dad”, it is truly all of the things my father is.

He needs nicer stuff than what I can buy for him on my limited budget. I always make him something…hopefully this year we can actually win him something nice!
