Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

I grew up playing in pools. Swimming laps isn’t for me, but I definitely like treading water and hovering in the deep end, and doing hand-stands in the shallow end. We used to play a pool game called spider, where you have to swim in and around another person’s outstretched arms and legs…

Samantha French’s art reminds me of hot summer days, practicing hand stands in the shallow end of the pool!! I was always so good at them underwater, never could master the hand stand on land! So, yes… LET’S GO SWIMMING!!!!

LET’S GO SWIMMING! We are fortunate enough to have a pool right outside our French doors and, while I do enjoy an occasional (i.e. weekly dip), my husband is part fish and in the water nearly every day. If we move, we’ll always need a pool or room to put one in!

LET’S GO SWIMMING! Reminds me of summer fun for hours a day in my Aunt & Uncle’s huge old fashioned cement inground pool in the late 60’s early 70’s! My Uncle would have to patch and repaint the pool (blue) every spring after our harsh Massachusetts winters!

    LET’S GO SWIMMING!!!!

Water and I are good friends; for splashing around and enjoying its awesomeness. Otherwise I am not a swimmer. Real swimming is tough business. Once a year in field hockey preseason during college we would have a so-called “fun” pool workout. There was usually little actual fun involved, just red-in-the-face lap swimming. Oiy! Ever since then I’ve had an aversion to real swimming. I’ll stick to the casual splashing around aka enjoying a nice iced beverage type of swimming! :)

I love, love, love the water (and Samantha French’s art) but we live in an area where there aren’t too many pools around. Regardless, I try to go daily to a local gym pool to swim and my kids are in swim lessons so when we do go on vacation somewhere warm, I can shout….
