Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

Although I have taught swimming lessons for ten years and love being in the water, I much prefer a leisurely swim to laps. And I also enjoy taking water aerobics classes, which are a really good workout!

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I love her artwork, & I have loved the beach and to swim since I could walk. I used to spend hours and hours diving for fresh water clams in a lake near where I grew up as a kid, and I used to try to race the lifegaurds doing laps across the lake. As an adult, I prefer salt water to fresh, but I love both. The ocean’s waves crashing on the shore is the best sound in the world. Now that my daughter is 3, I can see her love for all things water developing, and it is such a reminder of my wonderful childhood memories.

I LOVE swimming in pools, the ocean, lakes pretty much anywhere and I always have. I also have a new ensuite bathroom and the wall above the soaking tub is just crying out for a Samantha print of someone glazing through the water or shooting off the wall out of a tumble turn – thanks for the change to own one of these beauties

I love the water. I would go swimming every single day if I could. (Three times a day if it wasn’t a chlorine pool!) I did water aerobics when I was 17 because it sounded way better than the alternative… jazzercise. I am wanting to do it again, though, because I have early on-set degenerative arthritis and my joints can’t handle a workout with any big impact on them, but I need the cardio. And an hour of water aerobics is amazing cardio, if you didn’t know!

“let’s go swimming” is probably one of the phrases i’ve used most in my life. i took swimming lessons throughout my entire childhood and even became a certified lifeguard. i was raised on a gorgeous lake and spent almost every minute of everyday in the water during the summers. i now live in sicily, italy and still try to spend as much time as possible at the beach and in the sea.
