Fab Freebie: Gettin’ Jiggy With It

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

If you read this morning’s post about DIYing some wood shelves for the nursery, then it should come as no surprise that this week’s giveaway is from Kreg Tools. They’re giving one of you the chance to take home their Kreg Jig, so – no matter your skill level – you can feel like real woodworker.

Kreg Jig Materials

After all, I hardly consider myself to be a master craftsman, but after my latest shelf-building adventure I’m itching to tackle more wood-related projects. They really can be addicting…

Shelves Close

In addition to the Jig itself, this week’s winner will also be snagging a 675-piece Screw Kit, a Face Clamp and a set of project plans to get you started. So with all that at your disposal, I promise not to be jealous if you build something more complex than me. Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A Kreg Jig, Screw Kit, Face Clamp and set of project plans.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your dream wood-related project. Is there something you’ve always wished you could build? Or a renovation that you dream of tackling with your own two hands?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 7th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All 50 of the United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Oh what wouldn’t I like to build around here? I’ll start with your shelves but would very much like to advance to crown moulding and knock off Pottery Barn Kids headboards or beds for my triplet boys.

LOVE your house and all your great tips!!

I’d love to build a custom built-in Cabinet/TV hutch in my basement. I’d have some shelves for speakers, AV equiptment and of course, a place for a big TV. Also some cabinets to hide all the cords, DVDs and other stuff…

I need to build storage cabinets for our rec-room, and a small butcher block cart for our kitchen. My house is small (1220 square feet) so storage is always important. With that said, what I would really like to do is build the canopy bed my wife is dreaming of.

I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY! My husband and I made chunky wood shelf/leg bases for our office desk modeled after the ones at ikea. I was too cheap to pay $50 for something that looked so simple. Now I am dreaming of making a floating shelf out of oak to match to hang over the tv stand that my grandfather made for me.

my dream project is to have my husband create built in shelves in our little tiny hall closet so we can have a linen closet. it’s completely wasted space right now and it’s an odd size, so there aren’t any pre-made shelves that will fit.

I’m Getting’ Jiggy! If you can believe it, my husband’s name is Kreg. His dad was feeling creative when he was born, or his mother wasn’t in any condition to protest the spelling…family lore disagrees. Anyhow, he loves woodworking – what’s in a name? – and has been eying a kreg tool for a while now. We hope to finish some major awe-inducing (hopefully) trim in our family room/kitchen area. He also has plans for building me a new dining table. And a desk, some built-in shelves, and a secret he has yet to reveal. Ambitious guy! Sweet too.

I DO have a dream project! We’re about ready to move into yet another fixer-upper (you’d think we’d learn) and I really would love to have a built-in bookcase in the living room — something that looks like it’s always been there – crown molding and all. Two smaller built-in bookshelves in the baby nursery and what will be our office are also on my wish list.

Come on random number generator, try me! You’ll like me! I’ll even send “after” pics to the youngsters!!

I work in a school and am amazed at the projects the students do in their wood working class. They are beautiful and well crafted, and quite amazing for novice wood workers. If I could create one thing in particular I would craft an adirondak chair, that way after all my hard work I could sit back, sip iced tea and read a good book!
