Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

My husband will sometimes pretend not to have anything for me for Christmas or my birthday… then when he knows I’ve accepted that there are no gifts coming, he’ll surprise me with something (usually jewelry) that he’s hidden outside or in his vehicle so I don’t suspect a thing. :)

My husband brings me flowers from the super market whenever I ask him to run errands. I love those far more than roses!

    GIFT ME!

I came home from work to a giant bouquet of flowers that my boyfriend got for me to celebrate his job offer. It just so happened that I went to work with his car key in my purse, so he had to ride his bike to the florist and back (balancing a huge bouquet on the handlebars).

    Gift Me.

When we first started dating, my boyfriend surprised me by sending me roses to celebrate my winter break – when I wasn’t taking classes or student teaching. He made sure that they didn’t come right around Christmas (with my other gifts from him) but came days after to be surprise.

    “GIFT ME!”

I work at an elementary school, and I was called into the office on my birthday because someone had a gift for me. I thought maybe it was my father-in-law (he likes to send me a gift each year). It was actually a great friend from church. She was holding a present and her two daughters where holding balloons saying “Happy Birthday Ashley!” It made me cry a little!

When my fiance and I were first dating, he was very late picking me up for a date. I was mad, then worried, but found out that he’d spent a long time picking out 2 shirts for me to choose from to wear to a concert we were going to a few weeks later (and this is a guy who hates clothes shopping for himself, so it was very nice of him to pick out stuff he thought I’d like!).

My best friend from college lives in Manhattan, and I live in North Carolina. She likes to surprise me by sending me funny cards, flowers and gifts in the mail. She also likes to send me lots of photos of funny things that she sees in NY. A couple of weeks ago she surprised me with a unexpected bouquet of flowers and a really nice note thanking me for being her friend.

My mom pretended to go to the bathroom and snuck out of a restaurant we were at on Christmas Eve to put the presents under the tree at home. It kept me believing in Santa for an extra year or two because I couldn’t figure out any other way they got there.

One of my favorite surprise gifts was from my then-boyfriend-now-husband. We had been dating a few months and I had come home late from a long night at work to find a baby rosebush on my bed with a little love note. He said he wanted to get me some flowers but everything else would have gotten crushed in his backpack (he was riding his bike to my place) so this was the best he could do. So sweet! :)
