Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

Gift me! How about the best gift I’ve given? For my mom’s 50th birthday, I surprised her by coming home for a week (at the time I lived 1200 miles away and hadn’t been home for awhile) and organizing a surprise party! She had no idea! It was fantastic!

Gift Me! The best gift I ever got was from my now-husband. We were dating long distance and when I had one of the most horrible days of my life he surprised me and drove 150 miles on his motorcycle in the dark to surprise me and comfort me. I will never forget how that felt, and it was my favorite gift, even if it wasn’t something I can hold.

    GIFT ME!

My husband is a huge procrastinator and my Christmas present a couple years ago didn’t come in until a week or two after Christmas, so I didn’t have very high hopes. It ended up being a bag that I’d seen in a store, really liked but said I would like it better if it was in green. He looked it up online, found it in green, and ordered it! It has become my favorite purse and I use it every day :)

Gift me! I was just getting out of the shower when the doorbell rang. I grabbed my robe planning on just cracking the door for what I expected to be someone I’d just say “No thank you” to with just my head popped out. I was suprised to see a huge floral arrangement greet me. It was quite humorous I’m sure as I tried to take the flowers while holding my robe closed while trying to not let him see I was just in a robe! Ahh to be a stay at home mom!

GIFT ME! My husband, then fiance, got me a dozen roses when I came back from a trip. I was shocked because he thinks flowers are overpriced and it’s better to spend the money on something more fun, like eating out. He did it for me, and it was sweet.

My family’s childhood dog passed away on my birthday during my sophomore year of high school so on my birthday during my sophomore year of college my family flew me home for the weekend to introduce me to my surprise birthday gift, a beautiful golden retriever named Marley! This was just in time for the release of the movie Marley & Me which we all went to go see together as a family :)

The best surprise was my mom, sister, brother and great aunt coming to visit me in New Zealand. I thought I was going to the airport to pick up a business partner and instead it was my family! I was speechless. I would love to turn around and surprise my mom with a beautiful bouquet!

One of the BEST surprise gifts (aside from my engagement ring) was given to me by my then-boyfriend a few years ago. I came home from an exhausting 3 weeks as a summer camp counselor to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a card with some money in it. The note inside read, “Here is some money to get ready for our date tomorrow night. Get your feet and nails did or something. I love you. Get pretty again!” HAHAHA!! Made sense since I’d told him how I was DYING to feel like a girl again after 21 days of hiking around in the dirt and taking 2-minute showers. Gotta love a guy who understands things like that!!!

My biggest surprise was when my best friend, my cousin, my son’s godmother (all the same person) Showed up at my son’s second birthday party. I was shocked and thankful and spent the whole day in happy tears. She had been in Swaziland in the Peace Corp and I couldn’t believe that she was actually home (for a visit). Best surprise ever!

Gift me! My biggest surprise was at my wedding. We had all just sat down to our meal, when my brother who had been away with the Army (and told me he couldn’t get leave to come) came walking into the tent still in his camo after hours of travel. Total surprise… Everyone was crying, caterers, guests etc.

GIFT ME! Right after my now-husband asked me to move in with him, he had what turned out to be a lung lobectomy. I practically lived at the hospital for a week and he was released the night before Thanksgiving. Somehow he managed to get a local kitchen store to deliver a full set of Calphalon cookware to me that night as a thank you, which also came in handy when I cooked our first Thanksgiving the next day!
