Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

A few days later I came home to find that same purse, and he said he thought I needed it for our upcoming trip.

I like it when my husband brings our 4 year old up to my office for lunch (if he’s off that day) or has her bring me daisies (my fave flower of all time) after he picks her up from school. They don’t do it often, but when they do it’s wonderful! I hear a MMOOOOMMMMMMMYYYYYY squeel as she runs around the corner.

My husband gave me a beautiful leather journal for Christmas a couple of years ago – I loved it immediately, but then he told me to look inside it. He had started jotting down poems and random memories in it, and pledged to do so regularly (and he does!). I was so overwhelmed. :-)

The last time my husband of 15yrs gave me flowers was on our 1st anniversary, but he did surprise me this year with a Nook for Valentine’s day and and iphone just because I wanted one – so I guess his romantic gestures involve technology rather than flowers, lol!

Fresh flowers make all the difference in creating a warm, wonderful atmosphere in your home. The best surprise gift I received was a proposal! After many years of dating, I had resigned myself to loving a man who just didn’t have marriage in his life plans. Until he popped the question just before lunch arrived. When he asked “What do you think about getting married?”, I looked at him, blinked, and said “To Whom?”. His “How about me????” sent me into spirals of delight. Never ate that lunch.

My favorite surprise is still the one that my husband brought on our first date. He grew up in the southeastern valley in Colorado, known for melons and hot peppers. On our first big night out in Colorado Springs, he arrived with fresh cantaloupe and poblano peppers from a roadside stand. So simple, but I think of that gift each time we visit his family and see a farmstand.

My husaband usually gets me nice gifts and takes my “heavy” hints. A couple of years ago when he asked me what I wanted for Christmas I said “surprise me”. The package was long and thin. He told my adult daughter he got me a “stripper’s pole”. When I opened it, it turned out to be a Ukranian assault rifle, no really, an assault rifle. (I recently started target practicing with guns…if you are wondering how is thought process was going). Needless to say, I wish it had been a stripper’s pole….
