Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

Gift Me…pretty please! I was surprised by a beautiful bouqet delivery from my boyfriend while he was on a construction mission trip to Haiti this summer to let me know he missed me. Here he was half a world away serving the people of Haiti and still thinking of me. It made my day for sure!

I love surprising people more then getting surprised myself! I have flown to Alaska to surprise my best friend on her 30th, flown to surprise my sister on her 21st, gotten gifts for my husband and family just because. I think giving to others is WAY more fun then receiving!

    Gift ME!

The most surprised I’ve ever been from a gift was one Valentine’s Day. My boyfriend and I have lived an hour-and-a-half drive from each other for the last three-ish years of our relationship. (We are in the same city now, thank goodness.) We used to drive up to see each other every weekend and I drove up on the Friday of one Valentine’s Day weekend. Expecting to be adorned with flowers and gifts and chocolate as I walked in the door, I was rather disappointed when I was bestowed upon some chocolate that he boasted was “More than half off!”. So I wondered for the rest of the weekend if that was it. Was I really worth discount chocolate? I was trying my hardest not be disappointed, but it was really irking me. I was cleaning up around the place when he had sneaked a gift bag on the couch when I wasn’t looking. I don’t know how long it was sitting there but I was shocked to see it was from Kay Jewelers. Inside was the pink sapphire and diamond ring, earrings, and necklace that I had been swooning over for two years! I was so surprised and thankful. I now wear the ring every day as a reminder of our love and that the best comes when least expected.

I think my most unexpected gift was my son. Months of trying, followed by months of not trying, followed by “why am I so tired???” followed by wonderful news. :)

My favorite surprise was when my to be, and still is, husband came home with an engagement ring from the discount store. It was a one size fits all, large yellow disc with a silly face on it and asked me to marry him. We were so broke back then with a baby on the way. He said he couldn’t get me the ring he wanted to, but he hoped I would have him anyway. We celebrated our 10th anniversary this summer and many more to come.
