Fab Freebie: Hi, My Name Is…

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We’re back with another fantastic prize that THREE lucky winners will be able to put their names on. This one comes from Customized Stationary, a fun little Etsy shop that features playfully designed cards and prints that you can customize with everything from your first name to your family name. And they’ve kindly put together three sweet sets for our winners to choose from (each which includes a print and set of coordinating notecards) that we were so enamored with we couldn’t help but snag a set for ourselves.

Custom Station Tree

Custom Station Birds

Custom Station Stump

We had trouble picking, but ended up going with the Carved Tree set, which we got to customize not only with our name and our initials carved into the tree, but also with our choice of colors. That way we ended up with a perfect-for-us set of stationary that was almost too good lookin’ to unwrap.

Custom Station Petersiks

Want a chance to customize your own set? Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: 8×10″ print and coordinating twelve pack of 4 x 5.25 notecards in your selected design (Bird Family, Carved Tree or Stump). It’s a $27 value, but stay tuned for a YHL special discount at the end of the contest on Thursday.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CUSTOMIZE ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about one of the last handwritten letters your sent (or received). Seems to be a dying custom in the digital age, so what was memorable about a recent time you used snail mail to send something special?
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, September 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA Only
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

CUSTOMIZE ME!!! I really enjoy sending hand-written letters and notes. I know how excited I get when I receive snail mail! I often send thank you notes, thinking of you notes, and try to send letters to my grandmother regularly…she always responds with her own hand-written letter.

Recently went to visit some friends from college about an hour and half from where we live. We usually stay at one of my best friends’ houses cause we just know that whenever one is in the other’s town, they have a place to stay. But I wrote a thank you note to my friend and her husband thanking them for their hospitality as usual, just because… My husband and I love getting mail, and it’s always nice to know that simple acts are appreciated.

The last time I wrote handwritten letters was the summer my sister lived in France for 10 weeks, as an au pair. We would write letters back and forth about everything going on at home & on her French adventure and I wish I had kept them all!!

Customize me! The last letter I wrote was to my best friend. We live in different states now and have insanely crazy and different work schedules, so letters are literally the only thing we have to catch up. Phone calls just don’t seem to work out – and we can always find a second to read our letters :)

Customize Me! My grandma and I have a great notecard/letter relationship. I still get So excited to recieve handwritten letters from her (they come about 4-5 times a year). When I write a note and stick it in the mail to someone, it just gives me a feeling of gratitude for the person who will recieve it…something an email just can’t quite compare to.

The last hand-written, snail mail note that I sent was to my best-friend thanking her for being my maid-of-honor at my wedding (last year). I really wanted to show my gratitude and how thankful I was for her helping me out and flying in for my bachelorette party and the wedding; the only way I could think of was to hand-write a thank you.
Usually for gifts I use some stationary that I have around the house for a thank-you card. The personal touch of hand writing is unsurpassed.

My father is quite elderly now and he is retired air force. He sends me little cards when he travels in what I like to call ‘pilot talk’. As in, ‘weather is partly cloudy 70 degrees. nice cafe breakfast. small girl reminds me of you at boardwalk 20 years ago. thinking of you…’ It warms my heart and makes me smile. I love a note in a card.

The last hand written not I sent was to a friend I recently visited in Brooklyn. She and I are both playwrights with 20 month old sons. It was so refreshing to be with someone who is, for all intensive purposes, sharing the same life moments with me. I wrote her a thank you note and included some photos I took of our sons playing with balls of yarn.
