Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

    Homes me!

My husband and I are currently living in his sister’s basement, so a home of our own in general would be lovely. Currently what I want most is a home that isn’t on top of another home. Those seem to be a rare thing in northern Utah. :(

I’d love a bit more square footage, especially enough to enclose an office with lots of library space, and a yard just big enough for gardening and a litttle play but not so big that it requires lots of mowing. Oh, and a big beautiful porch. Sigh.

Homes Me! We’re pretty happy in our current home (coming up on a year here!), but I wish our half bath was a full so we’d have two full bathrooms. Down the road we might try to figure out how to get a shower in there, but it’s pretty tight! Other than that, we just have a long list of improvements for our dream home. :)

I would NEED to have a mud room/storage/laundry room. Our last few rentals have always had terrible laundry areas and Ive always wanted to decorate a laundry or mud room. Also being an avid coupon (not the crazy kind lol) ive always needed a little extra storage place. Here’s to hoping we find one eventually!

As someone who loves to cook and who, at present, hates his kitchen because I haven’t had the time to rip out the old drywall with its caked-on old tile glue and replace it with a proper backsplash, I would go with a completed kitchen with properly modern appliances.

Well, we love our home right now, but if we were to buy a new home it would be closer to my Hubby’s work. He currently has a 40 minute commute each way right now. The problem with him moving closer to his work is that we would be in the suburbs. We love our urban home and don’t want to move! :)

    HOMES ME!

Right now, we live in a 1000 sq. ft. house with one bathroom. For the next house, I’d make it at least two full bathrooms and more space in the sense that the bedrooms are farther away or somehow designed to be more apart of the living room and kitchen.

When we have company come to stay, there is very little privacy and no chance of grabbing a little solitude away from the bustle of visitors.
