Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

    HOMES ME!

More square footage for sure! We’re in a tiny place now so a bigger one would be awesome.

HOMES ME! My new house would need a bigger backyard. I have two little boys who need more space to run and get some energy out.

HOMES ME! A shower. Definitely. We just bought a 125 year old house that just has a tub and what I’m missing most is my ability to clean myself in a vertical position. Other than that…a fenced in yard.

    HOMES ME!

While I love our new house, I’d pick one just like it with a tiny bit of a backyard. Someone hardscaped ours and it’s nice for adults, but not so much for little boys.

    HOMES ME!

A house with newer plumbing! Pipe just exploded in our place last week and – thanks to insurance hang-ups – we are STILL without water! Talk about starting the holidays off with a bang…or maybe just wet floors! lol!!! Not something I’d risk again!

I think I’d like to have a little more land. Not too much though, there’s only so much yard work I can handle :)

I love, love, love our current home, but the yard does require a lot of work. Maybe something that required a little less mowing would be nice…and with a fence for the dog!

My next house needs to have at least 1 1/2 bathrooms…right now 1 bathroom just isn’t cutting it. I’d also love ceilings that are higher than 8′ and a deck or a porch.

Homes Me! If my husband and I bought a house today we would want a yard big enough for kids to play in but that wouldn’t require hours of upkeep. We would also want a finished basement (basements aren’t common where I’m from – Alabama – but they’re awesome here in DC!) and a soaking tub that’s deep and big enough for two.
