Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 5th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One

My must have would definitely have to be more storage or a garage. Something NOT on a well would be great, too:)

Homes Me! We are coming up on the first year of being in our new house. Most important was easy maintenance and square footage. This would really help cozy up the place!

    homes me!

I’m in an apartment with no more than 3 square feet of counter space (and I love to cook and bake), so when my fiancé and I get married I am demanding a place with a decent kitchen. And a washer and dryer.

HOMES ME! My must haves in a house are character ( I love a good craftsman bungalow), good bones (room layout, windows with lots of sun), and a good location.

My current “home” is an apartment, but that $500 would go along way towards the new couch I’ve got in mind :-)

HOMES ME! I would look for a bigger backyard for my dog, but I love to back up to the woods like I do now. I also want more bedrooms so we can keep an office when my husband and I have babies. I didn’t think I would care about a basement but I love the one we have now… so that might be a must!

It would have to be location!!! In fact, I would want to buy the home we are renting right now that I have oh so many dreams of imporving things in it! Open up the kitchen, TV room and Living room. Add a few more feet to the second bathroom- so you know you can walk into it without hitting your hip on the sink. Oh the dreams!

We’re headed into retirement – so several must haves for our next house: rural but near good medical care, level spot with sun for a big garden, storage space for canning, not slab built (concrete floors are so hard on feet & knees), laundry not in basement or garage and detatched mother-in-law apartment – could be a long search!

We are actually under contract on our house right now and will be moving the weekend before Christmas into an old farmhouse built in 1855. Currently we have a ginormous sectional that will not fit anywhere in our new living room – so we’re going to have to buy a new couch soon! I’m thinking a loveseat from West Elm in Lagoon Microsuede!
