Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

    Homes me!

We’re currently living in a two bedroom apartment while my husband works toward his PhD. We’ll finally reach that goal in May and will hopefully be able to purchase a home soon. My must have is four bedrooms, or at least the space to add a fourth. My eldest of three hasn’t had his own room since the age of four and he’s 10 now. I’m excited for him to have a room to call his own!

I’d love a closet large enough that my clothes could all fit in one closet, instead of spread out over 3 rooms like they are right now!

My must have- a fireplace. Our current house doesn’t have one, which makes absolutely no sense when you live in Colorado.

I would look for a house with less square footage…Less to clean, less to organize and more interaction with the family…fewer places to hide out.

HOMES ME! Would definitely want more counter space! Our 1976 galley kitchen is efficient except for the “flow” is too narrow and there just isn’t enough surface space for prep. Thanks for another fun giveaway.

I don’t think I have any must haves (unless you count the basics, like a roof), but it needs to feel like a place I can tweak to fit the needs of our family and lifestyle (service-oriented).

Lots and lots and lots of storage!! And lots and lots and lots of light!!
Our home is from the era of closets so small that hangers don’t fit. And although there are a couple of good size windows, it’s too dark for me.
    Anyway, that’s it :) thanks!!
